Hi, Tom. I hope you don't mind I posted a link from my "walkthrough coming soon" page to this forum. I;n following the forum and will help field as many questions as I can, but it's going to be a while before I have even a single-player walkthrough. Just too much going on this time of year. How about you? Keeping everyone's lights on for the holidays?

In the PC version, where it says "Single Local Player" you can click the arrows (or select and scroll w/ controller) to add local co-op partners. I assume the console versions are similar. Which version do you have?

Just started last night and got a few levels done. I'm enjoying it very much so far, and glad it's out in time for the holidays, but I sure wish I had more free time to play it! Tom and mods, I hope it's OK to direct people with questions here for help. I'll try and check in regularly, but it's going to be a while before I have a walkthrough done.

Hey, Caity! Glad to see you're carrying on. I'm still slogging through TR3, but the end is in sight! (In Lost City of Tinnos now.) Not sure if I'll replay TRA any time soon, but I wanted to give you some encouragement. I also added you on Steam. I'm stellalune there too.

I honestly don't understand why it would work in one playthrough but not the other. I guess it's a bug though it's not one I've heard of before. If I discover a solution, I'll certainly let you know. But in the mean time, I hope you'll at least be able to unlock it on the second game. Sorry.

Just thought of one more (probably dumb) thing.... Does the Handgun Upgrade screen show that you're missing a part (as in this screenshot)? Could it be that you have all the parts but not enough salvage points to buy the handgun upgrade? I'm guessing that's *not* the case since you've done all the rest, but usually after this long, I will have heard of most serious bugs.

Hi, Kat. I'm sorry I don't have an answer. I've never heard of this particular glitch, but I wanted to post to let you know I'd seen your message and I'm looking for more info. I'll let you know what I hear. What a drag.

Here in the US, there is no boxed version, only download. I thought the other DVD versions required Steam activation, but I guess I was wrong about that. Support should be able to help. If you have time, please let me know how it works out in case anyone else contacts me with the same problem.

Did you not purchase and activate the game through Steam? If so, you need to open the Steam client program and you'll then see the Library link at the top. If there's another way to install and run the game, I'm not aware of it. Maybe contact Square Enix Support if it's a different verison. http://support.eu.square-enix.com/index.php

Hi, Guido. Welcome to the forum! I don't know why your game chose French as the default language, but I can tell you how to change it: Open your Steam Library, right-click on Tomb Raider in the list of games, and choose "Properties." Then in the pop-up window, click the "Language" tab. That will give you a list of languages you can choose from. Pick the one you want and then click Close. The game should then download and install the correct language pack. So you need to be connected to the Internet with Steam in Online mode in order for it to work. I hope that helps. I think hitting him once when you press the Melee button is normal. You need to repeat it a few times though in order to trigger the interactive cut scene sequence where you actually kill him. Again, the page with screenshots breaks it down step by step. I find videos can be helpful, but sometimes the action goes by so fast you can't really tell what the player is doing. As for the other thing, maybe your Steam files are hidden. If you open Windows help (F1 from the desktop) and search for "show hidden files" or "search hidden files" it should tell you what settings to change to display all files. Another option would be to go into the game, change save slots, and make a note of which slot you used. Then search your hard drive for the save in that slot (e.g., "save1.dat" or "save4.dat"). I'm happy to help. Sorry for the delays between posts, but I hope we can work through it eventually. There's so much great game left ahead.

Deep breaths! I'm happy to help, but I'm doing a bunch of stuff today so on and offline. Let's see.... First, there's no need to mash the buttons. Just watch for the prompt and press Melee when you see the icon. Then fight him some more until you see the icon again. Have you watched videos of anyone else doing it? If you go on YouTube and search for "Tomb Raider Endurance Boss" there are a few examples. Maybe that'll help with the timing. If not, I can try and record it and explain what I do at each step. As for the saves, the file structure is different for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows--and may also be different for Vista, 7 and 8. (I only have 7.) So check both Computer > Windows (C:) > Program Files > Steam > userdata > XXXXXXXX > 203160 > remote and Computer > Windows (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > userdata > XXXXXXXX > 203160 > remote Or search your hard drive for 203160 and see if you can find the folder that way. Let me know how it goes. I've got to run out for a bit but I'll check in later this afternoon.

I've got a few tips here. Or, if you happen to be playing on the PC, you can always download a save file and skip it. Good luck!

What Tom said. Also, remember you don't need arrow ammo to shoot rope arrows. They'll work even if you've run out of actual arrows. Not sure what you still need to complete, so this may be enough for now.

No problem at all. Just a reminder: you can also open the in-game map screen (Tab/Select/Start) to see where you are and the current goal. That will help you quickly find your place in the waltkhrough (at least my walkthrough references the goals), so that might be useful in the future.

Still not sure what you're trying to do with arrows and gun. If this is the Mountain Village, you light the burners with your torch. That is, find a lit lantern, stand next to it and hold Interact to light Lara's torch. Then move close to the statue and hold Interact to use your torch to light the burner. It's the same kind of sequence that you used to set piles of debris on fire in the earlier levels.

I'd love to help but I'm not sure exactly where you are. In the Mountain Village level, where you first meet up with Roth and he asks you to go find his pack with the first aid supplies, there are no lanterns to shoot. One of the challenges involves lighting the burners in the laps of various stone statues. Later on, in the Mountain Temple level, there are lanterns to shoot, but an arrow should do the job for these. And is this the waterfall you're talking about: [link to page with screenshots]? If so, you can't really get into that area. There's nothing there that I know of.

No cheats, per se, but you're welcome to download a save file from my site to get past this section. The downloads are at http://tombraiders.net/stella/savegame/TR9saves.html and instructions for installing them are linked from that page. If you download the saves for Mountain Temple then open the zip file, you'll see several sub-folders inside, each names for the location where that save was made. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Follow the link above and you'll see a 'download' link in the left column on that page. Click that and save the file (DaoineSidhe-TombRaiderIrevised.zip) somewhere you can easily find it. When it's done downloading, double-click the zip file to open it. (Newer versions of Windows should automatically open .zip files. If not, you may need to download a utility like WinZip, 7-Zip, or WinRAR to do it.) Extract or Copy/Paste the TR1-Remake folder from the zip file to another location (desktop, program files, wherever you like). Open the TR1-Remake folder and double-click the tomb4.exe file to run the game. Easy peasy. I think I'll start with TR1/TRA and see how it goes. If I have time, I might try the custom levels. The glitches are some of the best things about classic TR. If you can't do a handstand on an invisble floor, why bother living?
