I just found Lara's journal did anyone read it on the demo?

and i just got lara a bit stuck. oops

ok i fell into the floor. and then i fell through the floor but the screen is above where lara was so i fell through the ceiling i think

yeah i meant i found it in the inventory (press down) Lara actually reads out her entry's and i think that is the give away hint things that can be turned off. cause she says

"there appears to be a entrance behind the waterfall"

can some one lead me to a link that explains how the controls work.

I don't see any information with the demo download.

Every time I get in the water I drownd becarse I can't figure out how to swim up or down, and I can't make Lara do a flip since she turns in the direction of the button even when I hit jump at the same time etc.

i don't think there are any control discriptions yet... but if no oe comes up with anything my advice is just keep practicing, and when you figure it out maby it would help writing down the control buttons you know how to use this far.

i don't know how it will be in TR A cause i haven't played the demo... but in previous TR games the JUMP button used to be used as the SWIMMING button aswell.

Hi Mike and welcome to LCO.

You can find some tips about the controls Here.

Use Shift to swim down and space to swim up. As for the camera, it will take some time till you get used to it. You just have to keep in mind that she'll move to the direction of the camera ( e.g. If she's facing you and you press W - to walk forward - she'll move towards you and not the other way around).

Hope that helps a bit, but you can post in that thread for more directions.

I can keep from drowning now.

Still haven't been able to save so if I get out of the game I have to start all over but I need the practice.

I have the game preordered from Amazon.

I have played all the Tomb Raider games, and I could pick up any of the old ones and the controls are almost automatic but I really don't remember how the controls in Legend worked.

I recently started from scratch and played TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4 and TR5.

I really wish they had left the controls the same and kept the mouse out of it, even though the other games that I play all use the mouse I liked the directness of the old controls.

I'm pretty sure that I reconfigured the buttons in TR Legend when I played it to more closely resemble the original.

I don't see those options in the Demo, but maybe they will be in the full game?

I rather like the mouse controls myself. It seems more natural to me to be controlling the camera that way.

You can reconfigure the controls in the demo if you'd like. Just go to Options > Controls > Control Configuration.

I'll look again I thought that I checked that and didn't see the option.

So far I have found two of the Cogs, but I keep getting stuck in the room with the bear.

I can’t figure out where to go once I get up on the platform with the two posts that you can climb, I can’t seem to get to the opening farther up by jumping from the pole and going the other way doesn’t seem to lead any place.

I am getting used to the controls now and since everything is pretty automatic it’s not too hard. I remember the rope swinging in the old games and how crazy that used to drive me.

Hi again Mike!

Some options are disabled in this Demo, like the save option. You have the checkpoints anyway but if you quit the game you'll have to start from scratch.

The bear room... first I jumped to the top but then the bear hides and it's hard to kill him. So, if you want to get rid of him, jump down and kill it. Once you do that, jump to the top, pick up the ammo and if you look down, you'll see a wooden slope. Jump to it, let her slide a bit and immediately jump and grab, traverse left and then jump back to pick up an artefact. Go back up again, jump to the poles ( left one first, jump to the wall and then back to the pole tops - starting from the left, you'll stand on both poles and jump from the last one to a ledge.)

You'll be ok after this! Let us know if you need more help.

If you double click on 'controls' in the options menu you can change the buttons to what you want and it describes what ones do what...

Just played through the demo properly for the first time and enjoyed it!! I'm not looking forward to that T-rex battle tho.. he's huge!! Fantastic cut scene tho'

Played the demo for the second time... found the shotgun... so well hidden and clever to get to it. But I'm still missing one artefact and the relic. I'm guessing we can find them in the demo? Can any of you pros tell me that?

You can get them if you "hack the demo". It's also possible to ge the third cog that way as well. If you don't hack the demo then you have to wait until the full game to get the other secrets =).

I would like to know what the T-Rex fight was like though, In the original I didnt realise it was such a big thing- I did it a few days ago and thought it was just another enemy.... I guess at the time the game was released it was awesome...

Anyway, I loved the demo. Im playing TR1 for the first time ATM and had just finished the original lost valley level so it was awesome seeing the modern version

Nah, it shouldn't be illegal. If Eidos don't want people playing something, I would hope they wouldn't be stupid enough to put it in a demo. Besides, it's doubtful that there is very much more in the demo besides what you get to play, or the download would have been a lot bigger.

I played through the demo several times, Missed the shotgun so I'll have to go back and do it again.

I'm getting used to the controls, but I'd still rather have them like they were.

You don't have to be accurate at all when jumping, so it's pretty easy, more so then the original, buy I don't have the feeling of being in control that I do when I play the old games.

The combat is pretty easy in the demo, there is a safe place to stand for each combat situation, so you can play through it with no damage if you are careful.

I killed all but one of the raptors and then ran around to see if I could find anything in the lost valley but most of it is blocked off.

Well at least by the time the game comes I'll be used to the controls.

I still can't figure out how to make Lara do a flip, either to the side or back.
