i just started the PS, loaded new game on TR3, off I went................damn it! that spike pit gets me every time!

I'm partway through the first level now. I've gotten up to the water bits now, which I think I'll leave for later. I've found 5 of the 6 secrets, which isn't too bad... I hope I remember where the last secret is though.

I have to confess though, I did kill one of the monkeys. It snuck up on me and I shot at it out of reflex, then I had to finish it off or it would'a followed Lara around biting her ankles

This is in regards to a TRIII demo and not the game, but Gia said it would fit well in here. Anyway, there seems to be a problem with my computer and the (unpatched) India demo. I installed it, but when i tried to play it, an "error report" occured. The same happened with the South Pecific demo, but a simple uninstall/reinstall solved that problem. tombraiderchronicles.com offers an "India patch" but it's not specific on what it does, so it might just the the (illegal) patch that enables full India gameplay. Any insight?

I'm running on a Win XP, btw.

I don't know what the patch does, but you could try it. The India demo is only about 7Mb big, so I don't think that there would be much extra there for the patch to allow access to.

Otherwise, you could try compatibility mode. Apparently if you use Windows 2000 compatibility mode of some of those demos it stops the crashing. Right-click on the tomb3.exe file and go to properties in the menu. Click on the compatibility tab in the dialog box that pops up, tick Run this program in compatibility mode for and choose Windows 2000 (or if that doesn't work, Windows 98).

One secret found... I never find many in this part. I'm terrible with that slope. I saw some things and I should go back to get them but I really hate the spikes... All i want is to go down and stay alive!!

Wow! I've been playing the first level again, I think I'm over half way now - Just got the fifth secret. I've really enjoyed it! I'd forgotten what a cool level it was. I'd also forgotten how many tigers there were.. ouch

Most areas seemed familiar but I could never remember what I had to do, so I had to explore a lot again. Makes it almost like playing a new game for me, because I don't know how to do it anymore!

I saved last night at exactly the same spot as Shrensh's screenshot - only my Lara wasn't breakdancing LOL.

I haven't killed any monkeys, have 3 secrets and that first tiger still made me jump.

I missed one of the secrets I can't remember where it is... I used to know the locations of all the secrets in TR3, but it's been so long since I've played it all the way through.

Yes, we are. TR 3 was the most voted game. We started playing yesterday! I thought it was quite obvious!

Anyway, about my game. I decided to start again, be brave with that slope! And I just finished the level.

Here are my stats:

I decided to keep the monkeys alive this time. I always thought they were bad...I guess they are, once you shoot them once! eh eh Anyway, I killed the one that was keeping the key at the end... he scared me...

And I found all secrets! yay

now I either have to find my PC copy of TR 3 so I can install it on this PC for the first time and get it to work

or

find my old Sony Playstation copy of TR 3 (somewhere in the many boxes scattered in the closets and attic and garage of this house) and play it on my Sony Playstation 2.

Well done for gettin' all the secrets panther! I missed one.. doh! Nevermind..All Hallows is well hard so I wont mind missing that

I really enjoyed that level. It was better than I remember!

P.s. I saved 40 times already good thing i'm not on the PS!!

I finished the first level last night. I only got three of the secrets and had to kill the monkey because it scared me and I shot out of reflex. I saved 23 times in the first level.

I've saved 20 times so far, which is quite little for me. I'm quite used to playing games that have checkpoints, so I forget to save... then I fall off a ledge and land in a spike pit and have to start again from way back

Ok, I just started...

Anyways, I'm in the trees over the second spike pit and I have a sound problem where the music repeats NON STOP. I get a secret and its non stop chimes. *sigh* I hope I can catch up. I haven't really played TR3.

(BTW: HELP ME with this sound problme please.)

Itachi, for the sound looping thing, go here and download the TR3 patch. It'll copy the audio files to your hard drive and should solve the problem. It did for me anyway.

Be warned though, it uses the patch and it may stop savegames made with the unpatched version of the game from working, so you might have to re-start if you use it.
