  1. Welcome to LCO and Rise of the TR, Bendmak! Sorry for the delay getting back to you. This game incorporates quite a bit of gear gating, meaning you won't be able to access certain areas, collectibles, etc., until you unlock specific pieces of gear, such as rope arrows, explosives, etc. Most levels are not intended to be 100% complete on the first pass but will require you to go back and clean up once you have all of the necessary equipment.

If you've done everything you think you can do in a specific area but still don't have 100%, it's probably fine to follow the story and plan to return later.

Activating Survivial Instinct and/or following the Story Objective beacon on your map should take you where you need to go to advance the plot. If you can't figure out where to go specifically, you might try referencing the current objective from the in-game map (e.g., "Use the communication cables to zip line into the prison grounds") with my walkthrough. The blue subheadings in my text should mach each of the in-game objectives. That particular section is here:

As for locating specific documents, relics, etc., you could also reference my Quick Collectibles guides for each level. They'll tell you whether you need special equipment to reach them, whether they're accessible right away or not until later, etc. There are a few minor spoilers but nothing major in terms of plot points. Quick guides are here:

You didn't ask, but I'm a busybody 😁, so I also recommend changing save slots every now and then, in case you run into a bug or get into a difficult fight and wish you had more ammo or better gear. Then you can reload the earlier save and gear up before jumping into the harder section. This page includes info on that, as well as a lot of other general tips:

    https://tombraiders.net/stella/walks/controls/TR10controls.html#saveload

If you have any other questions, can't figure out how a particular control or feature works, etc., feel free to ask here or contact me directly. I love this game and I'm happy to help other people enjoy it more.

    Happy holidays! Stella

  2. Hi, Donna. The grapple is more than a little wonky in this game. You have the right idea though. Stand under the left side of the platform, fairly near it but not directly under the wooden part. Then jump up and press Grapple to hook the edge. This video clip shows the sequence. If it's not working, maybe try reloading the last checkpoint or even just jumping off the cliff to kill Lara so the game reloads. Resetting the area may help. Good luck!

  3. Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but I'm glad it worked out. I was going to suggest reloading an earlier checkpoint. Xbox actually has some hidden saves that you can access by going to the Load Game screen then holding both trigger buttons. I'm glad you didn't have to lose too much progress, and I apprecate you posting your fix in case someone else needs it.

  4. Yeah, there are quite a few places where the return path is different than the path Lara took during the story. Sometimes new base camps appear. Sometimes she destroys terrain. So I'd recommend checking the quick collectibles guide for the Cenote. I have only a rough recollection of that area since it's been a while since I played, but the quick guides tell you the fastest way to eacj item from the nearest base camp.

  5. Hi, Donna. It's definitely possible to figure out what you're missing. My first suggestion would be to compare your in-game map to my annotated level map for the Hidden City. Maybe you can spot the missing document that way. Once you've zeroed in on what you need, this quick collectibles guide for Paititi documents, should help you find it. The documents are numbered in green on my map, in the order I describe them in the walkthrough, so it's kind of arbitrary but hopefully still helpful.

I also have a list of all major collectibles by story/dialect, which corresponds to the one on the in-game Artifacts screen. That list then links to the walkthroughs and quick guides.

    Good luck!

  6. Hi. I'm thinking it's a bug, but unfortunately I don't have a ready solution. There's a thread on Reddit where someone discusses running into a similar problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/TombRaider/comments/9q4079/stuck_on_the_eye_of_the_serpent_details_in/. A few people offered suggestions, such as reloading an earlier save in order to 'rebuild' that area as you enter it, and making sure to jump rather than drop off the grapple once it finally connects. Not sure if any of those helped though. The OP didn't follow up. I don't know if they found a solution or if they're still on Reddit, but I just posted there in case they might see it.

I don't know if Windows save files work in the Linux game, but I have a selection of saves on my site if you want to try and download one for that section. https://tombraiders.net/stella/savegame/TR11saves.html

  7. It's been a while since I played the game, and i dont remember the climbing being especially hinky, but maybe you encountered a bug that I didn't. Here's my guide for that area: https://tombraiders.net/stella/walks/TR11walk/details/jungle-4.html

Another thing that occurs to me is the autosave sending you back to the entrance may actually be a good thing. Check your map and see if you have everything from inside the crypt (a survival cache, two documents, and the sarcophagus loot). There is an archivist map between the sarcophagus and the exit. Maps are handy but not required for 100%, so it might be ok to just continue from there.

    Good luck!

  8. It sounds like a bug, though it's not one I've heard of before. Maybe try fast traveling to a different area, then back to that location to see if forcing the game to reload the level helps. Loading an earlier save can sometimes also squash random bugs. If you don't have a convenient recent save, the XO version stores hidden backup saves. Open the Load Game screen and hold both trigger buttons to show the hidden saves. Good luck and if you have time, let us know how it works out.

  9. Hi again. Which system are you playing on? Just to recap the rope arrow mechanic, you equip the bow, aim at the rope-wrapped thing, and the targeting reticle should turn red with 3 little lines centered around a small dot. Then you press Alt Fire (R2 in the regular PlayStation game, R1 in the Definitive Edition, or RB on Xbox) or Space on keyboard to fire a rope arrow. Unfortunately there's a known bug with rope arrows in the PC version. Info and possible fixes are here: https://tombraiders.net/stella/walks/controls/TR9controls.html#bugnote

I hope that helps. If not, could you possibly post a screenshot or short video showing where you are. I'll gladly help if I can.

What if bridge was already out and I am at the area where I can’t go past that since it don’t seem that far to grab axe to get on the wall... is there other suggestion to get up there? I am totally stuck up here .. thanks!

Hi, @Lindz84. Just to be clear, you have already passed through this area before and done the sequence where the bridge collapses and Lara has to latch onto the cliff wall and climb up? Now you're back here again later in the game? My TR2013 is a little rusty, but I don't think it's possible to make that jump again. You need to use the fast travel camps to get back to the area on the other side of the ravine. I think it's called the Broken Tunnel base camp.

  11. Hi, @LordFess. Welcome to the forums! I'm not sure about the beeping you heard; I never noticed that, but I can tell you a bit about that area. If you're playing on one of the easier difficulty settings, activating Survival Instinct (Q on the keyboard or Right Stick button on controllers) will highlight most of the objects that can be interacted with. Later you'll unlock skills that make challenge items and major collectibles (documents, relics, etc.) glow in Survival Instinct view, but for now you'll need to look more closely and/or consult a walkthrough to find everything.

There are a few areas you can't reach yet because you're missing certain pieces of gear. These include the goodies hidden under that wooden trapdoor-like opening you mentioned. You can't break through the grate, but later, when you get Lara's climbing axes back, you'll be able to climb down there a different way. There's also a climbable rock ledge on the northeast side of that area. Once you get the axes, you can climb up there as well. The first Challenge Tomb is to the northwest of the campsite, but again, you'll need the climbing axes. So you'll have to return here later once you're fully geared up.

If you haven't already done so, check the current objective by activating Survival Instinct or opening the in-game map. That will give you a hint as to where to go next. First you'll want to retrieve Lara's bow from that wreckage. If you've already done that, you can putter around in this area some more, explore a crypt, and complete the first challenge, but eventually you'll need to cross the ravine to move on to the next area.

If you need more direction, my walkthrough for that level is at https://tombraiders.net/stella/walks/TR11walk/02-peruvian-jungle.html. If you want less hand-holding and just want to know where all the major collectibles are, that page has an annotated level map linked at the top, with all collectibles revealed and numbered to correspond with the walkthrough text. There are also lots of 100% walkthrough videos on YouTube. And of course, we're happy to answer questions and offer advice here.

    Good luck!

  12. It's really just a matter of personal preference. Many people finished the game when it came out then played the DLC packs as they were released. Story-wise, the DLCs are all mixed up. Most take place before the game ending, so if you care about continuity, it makes more sense to play them before finishing the main story. But practically speaking, playing the DLC will earn some gear and skills that might be useful in the endgame. Wish I had a definitive answer, but I don't think it matters that much.

If you're unsure whether you're ready for the final level, you could always make a new save (or change save slots if you're playing on PS4/XO). Then if you're not happy with your loadout, you can reload that earlier save, maybe try some DLC, and continue with the final level later.

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the game. :)

  13. I have heard from a few people having trouble in that area, but unfortunately, most of them never replied more than once, so I'm not sure if the problem is due to a bug or not. One player mentioned there was no lever, but he also mentioned a nearby campsite, which led me to believe he had fast traveled back to that area after completing it. If that's the case, there is no lever because the puzzle can only be solved once. In order to leave the area, you need to use the base camp to fast travel.

If you're playing through the game the first time and there's no lever, I'm not sure what to do. Are you playing on PC, PS4, or Xbox? If PC, maybe try verifying the game files. (Right-click Shadow in the Steam Library, choose Properties, Local Files, then Verify Integrity of Game Files.) Or, if that doesn't help, download a save from my site. (Instructions are linked from that page.) If Xbox, try reloading an earlier save or backup save. (To load a backup save, go to the Load Game screen and hold both trigger buttons for a few seconds. That will show all available hidden saves.) For PS4, the only thing I can think of is to reload an earlier save or leave the area and come back to see if anything has changed. That's hit-or-miss, I know, but afaik, PS4 doesn't store backup saves automatically.

Also, make sure you have downloaded and installed all the latest updates regardless of which system you're using. If it is a bug, it may already have been patched.
