  1. Once you've rappelled down as far as you need to, hold either mouse button, then use the direction keys (WASD) to swing in whatever direction you need to go. To swing back and forth, you'd alternate pressing W and S. For side to side, A and D. It may also help to adjust the position of the camera so that you're swinging straight and not diagonally. Good luck. ?
  2. Interesting! I'll definitely experiment more next time I replay. I got sidetracked by Extra Life and need to buckle down and finish this walkthrough. Then I'll go back and check. I'd be interesting to hear what you all discover about this.
  3. I'm sorry I missed the original post. I did a video game marathon for the Extra Life charity this past weekend, so I was basically out of commission for two days. Glad you were able to get past it, @Shadow og the Tomb Raider . If you get hung up again, I'll try and respond sooner.
  4. Considering there are fewer combat sequences overall, it didn't bother me that much. I actually kind of liked how they changed up the formula a bit so things weren't so predictable. But I know what you mean. There was that one area in the Cenote, where you're trying to solve a certain puzzle while being attacked. Yikes! That made it VERY hard to concentrate. ??
  5. @Shadow og the Tomb Raider I'm so glad it worked out. Thanks for the kind words.
  6. You shouldn't have to find arrows. As long as you have one arrow in your inventory (or wood and feathers to make one), they give you everything you need for fire arrows right there. Sounds like the game is malfunctioning. If you can't fix it by reverting to the last campsite save or changing controls, I'd suggest putting in a support request with Square Enix. They're not great at solving problems, but at least they'll know there's an issue. If you're playing on PC, you can send me your save file and I'll see if I can get it to work in my game, and then send the save back once I reach the next checkpoint. My email is stellalune at tombraiders dot net. I'll be at work until this evening, but I'm happy to help when I get home.
  7. Have you tried crafting arrows, and if so, does it not work? To make regular (silent) arrows, select the bow (keyboard 1 or D-Pad Up), then without aiming, hold the Fire button (Left Mouse/Right Trigger). To craft fire arrows, select the bow. Then without aiming, hold the Alternate Fire button (Middle Mouse/R1/RB). Lara then combines a regular arrow, cloth, and fat from inventory to make a fire arrow. To use it, hold Aim (Right Mouse/Left Trigger), aim with the mouse or right stick, then hold Alt Fire (Middle Mouse/R1/RB) to charge your shot, and release to shoot. If you have all the necessary ingredients and it's still not working, maybe check the controls assignments in the Options menu. If a control got changed around somehow, you should be able to fix it there.
  8. A friend suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the game and any DLC. He said his last save file loaded after he reinstalled and everything was OK after that. His problem was in a different part of the game, though, not the spot you described. Here's the Twitter thread if you want to check it out: https://twitter.com/stellalune/status/1052938080586518534
  9. Bummer. I'll see what I can find out. I hate sending anyone to the official Square Enix forums or tombraiderforums.com, but you might want to post there just in case.
  10. @amg77 Sorry for the late reply and sorry I don't have a solution to the actual problem. I can certainly ask around and see if I can find answers. Which system are you playing on?
  11. This has definitely happened to me, but as you mentioned, it didn't prevent me from 100%-ing. It seems like a poor design choice to place interactable objects so close together.
  12. @rcgldr Hey! So glad you made it. These forums are quiet, but thank goodness none of the backstabbing and b.s. of the official forums and TRF. Thanks for the info. I don't use cloud saves, but I usually start at save1.dat and just keep saving in new slots until I get to the end of a level/area. Then I move all the numbered saves into a separate folder for each level and start again. The worst problem is I sometimes get so engrossed in the game that I forget to save, but I still usually end up with saves at or close to every major development, pre-/post-combat or tomb, etc. I also play online, but I'm not invested in achievements, so I don't usually even notice when they pop. Different strokes, as they say.
  13. That one is part of one of Uchu's side missions. I just played it yesterday so it's fresh in my mind. So many paths and passageways!
  14. No, not selfish at all. I am so glad that there are people out there who appreciate what I do. I made a lot of progress today, and I may even finish the first part of Paititi. I'm very close, just finishing up a few of the side missions then hope to post either tonight or tomorrow. My shoulder is on the mend. I just don't want to push it too hard. All I want to do is play, but I don't want to make it worse. It's driving me nuts. ??
  15. Hi, Kathryn. I replied to your email as well. I hope that message came through, but in case not, I'll post the same info here. For the beginning of the Porvenir Oil Fields level, Lara doesn't have any weapons except for a knife and axes, so you're forced to use stealth tactics to deal with the enemies. You'll pick up some weapons as you go along. As far as I know, this is scripted and not a bug. The enemies with night-vision goggles can spot Lara through vegetation but not solid walls, and after a bit Lara will be able to cover herself in mud, which hides her heat signature from the goggle guys. There's at least one generator (sorry I don't' remember the details since I've only played this level once so far) that you can sabotage to attract enemies' attention so you can sneak up on them. Then, once you get the bow, you'll also have the ability to use fear arrows. The game will give you a tutorial. You can also make smoke bombs with empty jars to distract enemies and provide cover, but I can't remember if jars are available at the beginning of the level. You may have to make a bit of progress before you're able to find them. Once you reach the last area, you'll get a rifle. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to finish the walkthrough for that section yet. I've been super busy in my regular job and have a shoulder injury that prevents me from playing/writing as much as I'd like. Maybe some other players will read this and have suggestions. Good luck!
  16. Yessss! I've seen people posting on Twitter about it as well. Great news...finally!
  17. Just heard about this. Is it working for everybody?
  18. Hey. I wish I had an answer for the underlying question about the bug. I don't know if the treasure will show up in Treasure Hunt, but I can tell you how to access that mode. Once you're finished with the game, instead of "Resume Game," it says "Treasure Hunt" in the center of the circular menu. Select that and the game should put you in the Mediterranean Sea in Treasure Hunt mode. To change levels, open Lara's PDA and choose Revisit Location. I wish I could say the treasure would miraculously appear, but I honestly have no idea.
  19. Thanks so much for the compliment. ? It's going to be a while before I finish this one, but I'm making a little progress every day. Thank goodness SpirantCrayon is on the case. I barely remember that area from my first playthrough.
  20. OK. I remember now. Sorry about the unhelpful reply. Still haven't gotten to that section in my second playthrough.
  21. Are you talking about the photos that are added automatically as you go along? I'm not sure if those count towards 100% since there's really no way to miss them. They just appear when you reach that point in the story. Assuming there is no glitch involved, of course, which I guess we can't really assume at this point. ?
  22. That's great news! Thanks for sharing this info.
  23. I wondered that myself. My theory, which I will soon be putting forward in the walkthrough, is that it represents a trip through a jaguar's digestive tract. The eels are like stomach acid...or something. I don't even know. ?
