Another Death Star? You'd think the Empire would had learnt by now the Death Star is a waste of $ and resources and personnel that can be destroyed in a parsec. How many people does it take to fully crew a Death Star? 10,000? 25,000? I would think after the loss of two already, most Imperial officers and storm troopers and other personnel would rather be on a Star Destroyer.

Arthur C. Clarke once said that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Perhaps that's how Thor's hammer seems to many who've read about it in Marvel Comics or seen it in The Avengers and Thor films: it's a magical object that only Thor can wield. However, Thor comes from an advanced race of people that live on a planet called Asgard. It's likely that Asgardians have this kind of superior technology, including the concepts that gives the hammer, also known as Mjölnir, its unique properties. An engineer on Earth, Allen Pan, just figured out how to create a real version of Mjölnir that works: by using electromagnetics and fingerprint scanning, he created a working version of Thor's hammer that allows only him to pick it up. To keep the hammer from being easily moved, Pan put microwave oven transformer electromagnets inside its head. This kind of electromagnet creates a magnetic field via electricity, which holds the hammer firmly in place when set upon a metal surface. This makes the hammer seem heavier than it really is when anyone tries to move it and makes it immovable. The hammer's handle has a touch sensor connected to an Arduino Pro Mini and a solid state relay: this acts as a switch that turns on the electromagnets in the hammer's head when anyone touches the handle. However, there's an exception: Pan can move the hammer because there's also a fingerprint sensor embedded into the handle: the hammer's programming recognizes Pan as "the worthy" when he touches it, which turns off the electromagnets, allowing only him to pick it up. So, it may seem like magic, but it's just really technology. In a YouTube video, Pan set his version of Mjölnir on a metal manhole cover and challenged innocent passersby to attempt to lift it. The results are pretty funny (almost as funny as when the Avengers tried the same thing). Of course, Pan's version of Thor's hammer can't do a lot of things that it does in the comics: it definitely doesn't come flying through the air when summoned and it can't destroy mountains (although it could probably crush some heads). Whatever the case, though, Pan managed to take inspiration from comic books and movies and create something that could eventually lead to better technology for preventing certain kinds of theft. That would even impress Tony Stark.

He has the same dumb clueless expression on his face even when someone is pointing a gun at him or shooting at him. The main actress is also horrible as if she was plucked directly out of a cheesy Telemundo soap opera. HECK! The 8 years old little girl that played the daughter did a better acting job than any of the adult actors and actresses in the entire film. The premise was interesting but the director and screenwriters really had no idea what to do with it and how to execute it brilliantly. It's like when you were in school and you were asked to write a paper about what you did on your Summer vacation and you wrote a brilliant title to start your manuscript and then your mind went blank. You'd ended up sitting there for hours just staring at the white sheet of paper with just a title on it with no idea how to start it and what to write as your opening sentence. Well this movie is like that! If you value your time, stay away from this film! 1/5

Sergio Leone's Once Upon A Time In America (1984) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087843/ I've seen this movie before a long time ago on VHS but that was the stupid excised 139 version for American audience - cut back from the original Italian 229 min theatrical release. The version I watched tonight is the full 251 min film originally envisioned by director Sergio Leone in 1983, which was recreated in 2011 using previously cut scenes. It was shown at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and subsequently released in September 2014 by Warner Bros on a special 2-Disc Blu-Ray set. Now that I've seen this full version, the story makes more sense and the movie itself is in turn sadder and at the same time more powerful than ever before. It's very unfortunate this film did not receive the full version release in America in 1984 which caused it to blasted by the critics and shunned at the box office. Otherwise, it may had very likely received Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Art Direction, Best Photography and Best Musical Score. This was Sergio Leone's final film in an illustrious 20 year career that begin with the Spaghetti Westerns which elevated Clint Eastwood to an International Superstar. Damn the studios and the American censors for disrespecting him by cutting his original cut of this film to pieces. 5/5

The seafood market clerk tells me each 4-legs cluster is about 3 lbs.+ So someone will pay over $105 to get maybe not even 8 oz of actual meat out of it! It's even more expensive than live Maine lobster or Filet Mignon!!
