Post your bugs here!
No bugs per se, but the camera can be a pain at times especially where jumping is concerned.

What Version did You Get?
(I just read your post in the Mirror's Edge topic --- balancing on beams in the aforementioned game uses the Six-Axis motion control.)

Mirror's Edge
Finally finished the game yesterday and I'm satisfied with the overall gameplay. I would have liked to have not shot a single weapon but honestly, those guys were really getting on my nerves --- had to permanently put them down, lol. I loved doing the sniper sessions. On a related note, the PC version of Mirror's Edge has been optimized to take advantage of NVIDIA's PhysX technology. This takes the game to a "new level of realism and immersive action: simulated cloth with tearing, weapons that cause physical damage and debris, physical smoke as well as environmental effects like leaves and trash blowing in the wind." Such things are not available on the 360 and PS3 versions. Check out the PC version Trailer featuring Physx: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_mirrorsedge_home.html

I will get the PC version of course!

Underworld on PC
That's not a bad choice either. If cost is a concern for you, you can also pick up the corded Logitech Dual Action (which I have used for many years now) and is dirt cheap. No configuring necessary --- just simply plug-and-play.

Mirror's Edge
Purple, I've just started Chapter 7; yes, sadly I'm almost done. I'm not bashing the length of the game ----- I simply want more! I temporarily stopped playing Fable 2, Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 and I'm concentrating all my energy to finishing Mirror's Edge The story itself made some unexpected twists and turns. It is also because of this, other than the innovative style of playing, that makes me want to play to the very end.

Mirror's Edge
Played a bit more, well actually, not a bit, a lot more, and I must say that there's a certain satisfaction when you have strung together a number of moves to overcome the obstacles you see before you and that's where the immersive factor really shines in this game --- very cool! Momentum is certainly key here and quickly finding the right line of sight makes your escape all the more fluid and exciting.

Mirror's Edge
Had the day off today and put in some serious gaming hours for Mirror's Edge and I'm really impressed with it thus far. I bought the PS3 version since this type of game calls for a large and widescreen TV format. I initially wanted to go the pacifist route but there were times when I wanted to just shoot and did shoot those (corrupt) cops down; they're telling me to stop running and yet, they're also firing at me..... Fighting is best kept to a minimum and disarming cops and guards is always a treat to watch. In the latter case, you have to isolate them otherwise you'll simply be overwhelmed in no time. There is more of a sense of satisfaction in disarming and incapacitating the enemy rather than simply gunning them down. You also have the option of simply running past them in some cases. As for the parkour aspect of the game, keeping your momentum is key and looking ahead as to where you must and can go is key if you're to survive the onslaught of cops, not to mention some choppers trying to gun you down from the sky. The acrobatic and platforming aspect reminds me a lot of The Prince of Persia trilogy but is played only in the first person point of view. Well, that's it for now......

Mirror's Edge
Anyone try the demo yet? I tried it today and I liked what I saw and played. Controls were quite intuitive. I'm looking forward to playing the full retail version come next week. Demo available for 360 and PS3 (not too sure if there is a PC demo however).

Have you updated your video drivers since you got your rig? Do update if you haven't done so.

Hmmmm... I have a fairly high end PC and had no problems running it on Vista. What are your system specs (and what is the maxixmum resolution of your monitor)? Did you install the demo in XP or Vista and is it up-to-date, including the video drivers? DirectX 9/10 updated?

On my second run through, I found using a gamepad much more intuitive than with using the mouse/keyboard combo. Shrensh, I wouldn't worry about the lack of customizing/configuring buttons that personally suit you --- it is afterall just a demo. I'm certain that this will be possible in the final retail version.

Yes I have to agree, the graphics in this game are gorgeous to look at. On my first playthrough, everything was on High, 4xAA and 2x Anistropic. I'll further experiment on my next playthrough. The camera leaves a lot to be desired and I had the same experience as you did MsC particularly in combat and the platforming puzzles. Instead of the mouse/keyboard combo, I will use my gamepad and see if that improves gameplay at all.

Far Cry 2
Okay, I've played a bit more and judging from what I've accomplished right now --- which hasn't been a lot --- this will take 20+ hours and more. Very nice! Haven't seen a straight FPS do this in years. I'm going to concentrate unlocking all of the safehouses while doing some primary and secondary missions and I hope to build my weapons profile; I'm going for a more stealth approach to missions but I also want the firepower and flexibility to take out a tank or truck/convoys should the need call for it in an emrgency situation, sort of like improvising on-the-fly .

Far Cry 2
I personally prefer hard copies of games, something tangible, that I can hold in my hands. And yes you're correct MsC in saying that those who have legitimate copies get the short hand of the stick and no it isn't fair BP. On a more happier note, I got my regular copy of Far Cry 2. I've played a bit and I'm quite impressed with its performance. Far Cry 2 doesn't seem to be a resource hogging game. It scales quite well so I'm planning to tweak the in-game options more to find the sweet-spot between gameplay and visual performance/balance. At the moment, I'm gaming at 1900x1200, everything is on Very High with 4x AA with V-Sync ON. Not sure if my SLI set up has anything to do with the good framerates I'm getting; this I have yet to check. I also have to update to the latest video drivers.

I've played the demo!
Oops, sorry my mistake. You're right. Well, looking on the bright side, PC demo is free!

I've played the demo!
The Demo is free for those with a PS3 console.

Far Cry 2
Wow, I didn't know there was a Collector's Edition ---- very, very nice indeed! Good thing I held off from getting my copy on release day. It's nice to know we can save anytime, anywhere on the PC version; I'm not sure if the 360 and PS3 versions have this all-so-important feature that should be in all FPS regardless of format. As for that "revocation" thing, yeah, we gotta thank piracy for that, oh well. Bioshock had the same uninstallation system put in place too. And yeah, looking forward to picking up my own copy

Far Cry 2
BP, did you get Far Cry 2 yet? and if you have, how is it? I've yet to pick up my copy.

Well that's not good --- hope it's not a game stopper. Dead Space, ummm.... yes, lol.

Dead Space.... that falls in the horror genre of sorts doesn't it? I'm a wus when it comes to that sort of game. When I played F.E.A.R., I had to play it with the lights on in my room, lol; that Alma scared the crap out of me particularly in that one scene in the ventilation system: it was an "Oh {insert four letter word starting with "s"}!" moment. It literally made me jump from my seat.
