I just like a hour ago clicked shutdown shut the lid of my laptop and put it into the other room i come back 1 hour later and the laptop is still on with the stupid error message and worst my laptop is roasting hot. And I dropped something on the lid and theres a dent <<<----- (we need a better shocked lara animation, maybe a draw dropping like at the bottom)

There is nothing wrong with my laptop cause these error messages just its being a little

I probably could rant until the cows come home, but today was hilarious for me! The girl's bathrooms from high school had no running water today and some workers decided it's time to paint around there. I had a hard time keeping from bursting into laughter at the sight of about ten girls running around there trying to 'keep it in'. It was evil of me to laugh, but that gets to show you that even the 'popular girls' show their nasty side sometime

Oh yeah.....I had my pager replaced today (one that gives us all the up to date info on the trains) only to find the new one is worse than the one it's replacing! My old one wouldn't receive all of the messages that it should do (control forward them....we should receive them)...This one receives all the messages....they're just all "jumbled up".....I'd rather have my old one back, lol.

There is a big tree on one side of our house which provides shade for one of the Upstairs Extra Bedroom.

The branches were getting too close to the house and when it rains real hard and the wind blows, the branches will hit the house and the window.

I told the yard people today to trim the branches so they wouldn't touch the house.

Andrea and I and the Girls, we went out afterward and didn't come back until 1 hour ago.

Who programmed Kurtis Trent's aiming system? A monkey?

I could've beaten Boaz by now, it would've even been easy, if Kurtis didn't move like an idiot while in combat mode. The main problem I'm having is that Kurtis is /really/ stubborn when it comes to aiming, moving, /or/ holstering while he has his gun out! More often than not, he'll aim at thin air. The few times I actually get him to shoot Boaz's face, thus letting her spew goo, he aims at her face fine. Does he aim at the flaps that he has a clear shot at? Of course not! I've tried hitting the roll key, which apparently changes targets, but he either doesn't change targets or rolls like normal. When I'm trying to actually holster my gun and run to a different area, Kurtis flat out won't if I'm moving in any way. So the programmers expect me to /stop/ in the middle of running from a massive poison spewing mutant to holster or bring out my weapons. That's intelligent. Also, Kurtis seems to outright stop before I do anything. So heres the situation: Kurtis can't move very well with his guns out, so I holster them until I need them. He stops to holster them. I jump away from Boaz, who's getting ready to bite me since Kurtis stopped dead in his tracks. I either get severely hurt or get killed. I only have a box of pills, two candybars, and a large medipack. Okay. One question:

CORE DESIGN, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU PROGRAMMED KURTIS' COMBAT?!

Kurtis himself is the /only/ thing that stops me (and pretty much everyone else) from defeating this level.

If I was in control of Lara Croft, I probably would've defeated Boaz on the second or third try at the most. But no. I'll probably be stuck on this level for months because of this idiotic secondary character thrown in at the last minute. Jeez.

I just don't understand why they had to make Kurtis' controls so different. Couldn't they have just put Kurtis' textures over Lara's and changed her a bit so Kurtis could look more masculine? That's what pretty much everyone else does when you change characters in a agme, why could Core?

Oh yeah, I remember.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh, the stupid Central line went down again today. A train derailed because some chop didn't secure something that was being stored in a tunnel cross-passage, so now it's suspended from where I live into Liverpool Street Station and I had to catch the stupid bus home. I hate catching the bus when the trains aren't working!

No one was seriously hurt, luckily (linky-linky), but it'll probably still be down tomorrow and I'll have to leave for work really early and fight crazy people to get a space on a stupid bus

(please please let the trains be running at least to Stratford tomorrow morning...)

I get the odd error message, but since ive been using PCTools registry mechanic 5.0 and turned of my auto updates since i read that the updates if not download fully they runamuk on you PC,ive had no real problems so if u want a chat send a message

I got to tell you all a story...this is something that happened last night...

I bought a 20oz bottle of Sun Drop from the store and it had one of these codes you put in online, it was a contest to win free music or MP3 players. So I decided to try it out and see what happened...turns out when i went to Sundrop.com and put in the code and won a free music download. But to get it I had to go to another site and registered there and that site was Ballyhoo.com.....after choosing the song I had to download a program called Passalong music server....it had the song I wanted and when I tried to download it, there was an error. That left me feeling ripped off and I wanted to uninstall this program. When I tried that, my windows explorer won't respond...so i restarted. When I restarted and windows came up again....I was greeted with an error message "Failed to load explorer.exe You must reinstall windows"

I was and too....now i had to reformat my entire system and lose everything I had. I reinstalled Windows and this morning I got my DSL back up and running.

So everyone here, if you see these free offers on these drinks...DON'T GO FOR THEM......I learned the hard way and I don't want anyone else to go through this

is this Windows automatic downloads your on about cause I have them all except the malicious spyware removal tool cause it puts error messages in my system tray.

The otherday I was buying some spray hair gel from Poundland cause everything is a pound so yeah bargin anyway store policy is anything that sprays or aerosols like lighters and hairspray E.T.C you must be 18 with ID how stupid so I went to ASDA and got some for even less

Hate to move up such an old topic, but I am seriously needing to rant today. I've been training these new people at work (I work in a library, for those who don't know). And my main frustration is this: why can't people answer the phone when it rings?? I'm not talking about when you're busy, but when you're just sitting or standing there next to the phone, and your co-worker(s) busy, is it so hard? We sort of have an unspoken rule that the phone should be answered by the third ring.

My question is, is this an uncommon practice? Because I'm wondering if these new people are just not used to answering it so quickly. I explained that it should be answered by the third ring. I keep having to interrupt the person I'm helping to answer the phone, while these trainees just sit at the desk next to their phone and let it ring!! Grr. Anyway, if I'm just expecting too much, I'd like to know. Otherwise, I'm going to tell them that it's unacceptable to wait that long, especially when they're just surfing the 'net for personal reasons, or reading through magazines. Maybe I'm being too nice, and need to make things a little clearer.

Oh, and our answering system comes on by the 4th or 5th ring, btw.

I was in the Staff area of one of my stores today and the phone rang and there was 4 employees back there and 1 Manager and they just kept chatting away or surfing the internet or eating their lunches.

I finally look up and said, "Sara, answer the phone please!!"

Yep - it's not just you, we have a similar policy - if you are on the counter you are there to serve, if you are serving another member of the public and no one else on the counter is free, we would expect someone in the backroom to realise the counter is busy and come out to get the phone. There are always some who think this rule doesn't concern them - we soon put them right.

We are not allowed to use staff computers for personal use and the newspapers and magazines are for the public (or ourselves in our own time) - I can always find a job for someone with time on their hands.

If they're trainees they might not know that they're expected to answer the phone yet, or they may be nervous about answering the phone in case the customer has a problem they're not yet trained to deal with. The new trainees at my work always get a deer-in-the-headlights look on their faces when the phones at their desks ring Of course, if you've already made it clear that they're expected to answer the phone and they still don't do it, that's just rude and you should start beating them until they co-operate

none of my employees at the new store are trainee anymore; they've been with me for 11 months minimum and a few 3 to 7 years.

there is a reason why I gave each and every employee their own cubicle with a phone and a computer so they can get the work done more efficiently without having to run back and forth between computer terminals and telephone.

so when that phone rings and it's not picked up after the 3rd ring, they have to assume the people at the customer service counter are busy and I expect it to be answered at the 4th ring.

@AngelR: That's exactly how we do it -- if the phone gets to the 2nd or 3rd ring the person in the back room should realize the front counter is busy, and answer the phone. We're allowed to surf the internet briefly, but not if there's tons of work to do. In this case, I went back there, and there were things to be straightened up, calls to be made to people who requested items, etc. And there's always shelves to "read" (making sure each book is aligned in Numerical & Alphabetical order). I consider a break to be just 15 min. -- you don't take little breaks throughout a 4-hour period.

@Shrensh: Lol @ the deer-in-headlights look -- I know what you mean! I walked her through how to answer & told her she can come get me if it's a question she doesn't know the answer to. So, I'm liking your whole "beating" idea.

@J7: Amazing how someone can sit right next to the phone and appear to not even hear it ring. Maybe they're tone deaf!

I agree with everyone else regarding the answering of phones. From a customer's point of view, staff who don't answer the phones really bug us, lol.

Ok, I have my own rant now. Again, work related, lol. At work our mess room doesn't qualify us for a cleaner, so we have to keep the place clean ourselves...That's no big deal from most peoples' point of view. It just really bugs me when the person who is listed to give the place a weekly clean, doesn't. (other than obviously washing our own cups etc, we decided that whoever works the Sunday shift, cleans up the room including mopping the floor and emptying the bin.). It wouldn't normally be an issue to me if somebody didn't take the bin to the skip (other end of station)...I would moan a bit, but wouldn't let it get to me. But last week the the person whos turn it was left two full bin liners in the mess room. It was just for the fact that this individual is the laziest employee we have have in our division, and the fact that I would never get away with the amount he does, along with the sheer cheek of him, and that it always seems to be our team (well, me and one other actually, lol) that empties the bin, that got to me here. Should I point out when people aren't pulling their weight? Or should I just keep letting certain individuals take the buscuit? Am I being petty?

I work at the customer service desk at Wal-Mart and sometimes it bugs me that other people keep turning down the volume of the phone to where I can't hear it. Sometimes there have been times when we couldn't answer it because a customer was using the phone or we were doing a store-to-store, or calling a department.

I'm sick and tired of Politicians!

Constant bickering, name calling, mud slinging and nothing worthwhile ever seems to get accomplished. You've got your spin doctors out there shoveling bull about their man/woman. The media has their favorites and craft their news broadcasts to favor this person or that. Bogus polls and ridiculous campaign advertisements.

I'm sorry that I ever got interested in politics and I'm seriously thinking about NOT voting next election.

I'm thinking about substituting cable news with Leave it to Beaver reruns or animal shows or.......ugh.....I almost hate to type it............REALITY SHOWS!!!! ARGH!!!

Sadly, come Monday, I'll probably fail miserably and watch more of this insanity. Then I'll get mad again. The beat goes on. HELP ME!

Dear morons digging up the gas pipes in my street:

If they give you fences to put around the holes you've made in the pavement, it might help to put those fences around the hole instead of standing them next to the hole. That way when people try to walk around the fences in the darkness, they don't end up stepping into the hole injuring themselves.
