Abandoned Mines HELP ME
Yes, what Tom said. Once you get your first bow, you always have some kind of bow for the rest of the game. On the Xbox controller it's D-Pad Up for bow. On they keyboard it's the number 1. (Press it repeatedly to switch between special arrow types like poison, fire, etc., once you've unlocked them.) Rope arrows are context-sensitive. That is, when you aim at a rope-wrapped object, the bow automatically shoots rope arrows. There's no special button for it. To go back to pistol it's D-Pad down or number 2. When you get the shotgun and rifle, it's D-pad left and right, or numbers 3 and 4. If you want to change *which* bow you're carrying (e.g., swap the recurve bow for the compound bow or others once you've unlocked them), then you need to do that at a campfire.

Collecting Mushrroms to poison bear
If you can describe where you're stuck, I'll glaldy try and "hint." If you just want to cut to the chase, here are screenshots. Good luck!

Yes, it is this one, "Communications Breakdown."

The Acropolis
When I played that section, there were at least one or two bundles of grenade arrows lying around in the area right before the gate. If you used them all during the fight, maybe try going back to the last base camp, fast traveling out of that area, and then fast traveling back in. Hopefully the grenade arrows will respawn.

Collecting Mushrroms to poison bear
Do you mean the classic TR games or Legend through TR 2013? For me, PC saves in Rise include Last Autosave (this gets overwritten as you play through), Last Campsite Save (just how it sounds), and Last Backup Save (not sure yet how this works exactly), followed by all the saves you make yourself. TR 2013 had 99 slots. I'm not sure what the limit is on this game yet. All of them include the level name and percentage completion, which helps a lot. They still register the last checkpoint before you save, so when you reload you'll be back at the checkpoint and not necessarily where you actually saved the game, but it should be pretty close.

What Izzy41 said. I'd also add, change save slots (or create a new save if you're playing on PC) right before you go to confront the bear. Then, if things go badly, you can just reload instead of having to run around hunting for supplies. Good luck.

What Format will you be playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on?
Indeed. The people who actually worked on the game must be crying at the mess made by those higher up on the business side. They did such an awesome job only to have their work go unrecognized or even insulted by so many long-timefans. I try to keep my criticism of the bussiness decisions separate from my appreciation for the game.

Guess I'll have to buy a PS4. Seriously though, I'm still fuming over this. Not enough to boycott the game but I agree with Morpheanne and others who've said it's a really stupid move for an established franchise, especially one that's been PC and PlayStation based since forever. Even owning an Xbox One and being able to play on the first day felt hollow and kind of sad, since so many of my friends couldn't play. I missed the times when we could all share the Day-One excitement.

What Format will you be playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on?
I played on Xbox One and it quickly became my favorite of the Crystal Dynamics games. All the side quests and collectibles kind of slowed the pace of the game a bit, but I think those things are important and also serve to flesh out the backstory. I like that there are more puzzles this time, even if most of them are optional, and I think the plot and characters feel a lot more like ones from the classic games, which to me is a good thing. I haven't tried the 360 version yet, even though I also own a 360. The graphics are pretty nice on the Xbox One. There are occasional hiccups and glitches, but so far nothing serious. I'm looking forward to playing the PC verison, hopefully in a few weeks. I hope the PS4 version comes out sooner than they initially announced. What a drag having to wait a whole year to play.

Missing gear
Most yellow ladders are climbable, but afaik that's all you can do with them. The combat knife is in .

Missing gear
Yes, exactly. There are several bits of gear that you don't unlock right away. Rope arrows is just one of them. Once you unlock the new gear, you can go back to earlier levels and use them to access new areas. I'm not sure what you meant by "pick up the ladders" though.

rope arrows
Hi, acall. Welcome to the forums. You unlock rope arrows in the Gulag area of the Soviet Installation level. You can't miss the upgrade because it's part of the story progression, so I'm guessing you just haven't gotten that far yet. There are quite a few places in this game where you see something you can't yet reach/open/unlock because you don't have the right gear. Rope barriers are just one example. So be patient, maybe make a note about the thing you can't do yet, and come back later once you have what you need.

Link to Square Enix Forums master bug list
Hey, all. I've received a few bug reports so far and have been referring people to the Square Enix forums, since the devs are monitoring there and providing fixes as they are able. If you encounter a bug that's not included in this master bug list, I'd suggest posting in the main ROTTR Technical Forum there.

ROTTR Game Help
That's what I've been doing so far. It's not super quality, though, so I may decide to spring for a real capture card. We'll see.

Xbox 360 Version Serious bugs
Hi, Kato. Welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble. I'm playing the Xbox One version and so far have not encountered any bugs, but I'm only about 1/3 through the game. I like the friendliness of this small forum for chat, questions, etc., but I would recommend going to the official Square Enix forum to report any bugs. The developers read those boards and may be able to help--or at least take note of the bugs players report in order to fix them in a future update. Here's a link to the Rise of the Tomb Raider section. The tech support forum is second on that list.

ROTTR Game Help
Glad it's working! I'm doing an initial run-through without notes or screenshots just for the experience. Then I'll replay and begin running parallel profiles to test out different strategies. Can't back up saves, so it makes things a lot more difficult than writing from the PC version, but I'll get there eventually.

ROTTR Game Help
Great! I may take you up on that. Starting with Tomb Raider difficulty the first time but may adjust up/down as I go.

What Format will you be playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on?
I'm using the stream to Windows 10 feature and Bandcamp Bandicam (oops...household joke) to capture. Not quite as good quality, but having already bought the Xbox, monitor, and game, I refuse to spend one more dollar on a capture card. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

Yep. I got an Xbox One just for this. Because I'm insane and apparently a sell-out as well.

ROTTR Game Help
Hey, all. It's that time again. I have the game and will be working on a walkthrough, but it'll be slow going working from a console version. So I'll be referring people here and to the Square forums for help. Hope that's OK. I'll try and check in regularly to pitch in. Hope those who are playing on Xbox are enjoying the game.

Can't find any Grenades?
Hi, Mike. Maybe try returning to Shantytown or Shipwreck Beach via fast travel. There are respawning enemies--at least in Shantytown--and when you kill them, there's a chance they'll drop grenades. Good luck!
