For me personally, Adventure Genre: The Longest Journey RPG Genre: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic FPS Genre: tooo many to choose from....but off the top of my head, The Operative: No One lives Forever, Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight FPS-Third person/RPG hybrid: Deus Ex, Jade Empire, Mass Effect FPSneaker: Thief Action Genre: Ubisoft's Prince of Persia Trilogy, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune All of the abovementioned games have one thing in common ---- immersive great story telling.

I don't think CD will remove graphic options mentioned above, optional to be sure, but to not have them coded in?.... for we're talking developing games for the 360, PS3 and the latest hardware available for the current generation on the PC; that would be counter-productive development-wise. CD will optimize the game as much as possible for different configs on the PC but they'll also take advantage of what the 360 and PS3 has to offer and what it is capable of. Now as for the PS2, they'll work within the confines (limitations) of this last gen console. Marcel, If you're familiar with overclocking the CPU and perhaps even your video card, this may help and even adding another stick of RAM to bring you up to 2Gb of memory will help as well.

Seeing as I'm not getting anywhere by simultaneously playing 4 games, I've focussed on just 2, namely Call of Duty 4 (PC) and Mass Effect (360). The former game is the FPS's dream --- I now understand why this has gotten the attention and praise it has received and the awards it has garnered. Varied missions and balls-to-the-walls firefights. I highly recommend this to the FPS gamers here. Mass Effect just keeps getting better and better. I'm actually halfway now. Love the storyline. The only downside to this game are some of the sidequests that involve landing and visiting some --- make that several planets --- it becomes rather monotonous and tedious at times. Otherwise, this is a stellar game for rpg lovers.

If you are planning on eventually purchasing a PS3, I'd personally forego the PS2 version of DMC 4. This is not to say I've never double-dipped before --- I have, involving 2 games as a matter of fact. In the end, I simply traded in one game in favour for the other that was later released on my gaming platform of choice; in this case the games I referred to were Jade Empire and Gears of War. I guess in the end, it depends on how badly you want to play DMC 4 particularly when it's sellling at that price point. It is quite tempting to be sure.

I've played the PC version of Gears of War and I'll most likely wait for the PC version for the second one as well. The PC port from the 360 has been one of the best I've seen thus far. It simply screams out triple A quality and so I expect the same thing to happen when the eventual port occurs several months to a year down the road. In the meantime, I'll probably rent Gears of War 2. I highly recommend GoW for those who love shooters, particularly the PC version, though the 360 version will suffice.

Call of Duty 4 (PC) Lost Odyssey (360)

Yeah, I saw this demo a few months a go. Very nice. Far Cry 2's engine debut footage is also worth looking at. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29864.html I couldn't find anything on the PC specs either. I suspect that it won't be revealed until much later near it's release date (Oct. 31/08) or prior to what I hope will be a demo.

If you want to experience TR8 on the highest quality, the PC version is still the way to go. I have both the 360 and the PS3, and the graphics don't come close to what a good pc with the latest hardware (CPU and video card) can produce (eg. Crysis). When a pc game is properly tweaked, it wil run and play flawlessly. Personally, I'll be getting the PC version.

I downloaded it and played it --- quite short but it was quite entertaining. Played everything on high. I hope the AI is tweaked a bit more because I could've used some backup if gameplay involves the the co-operation of the two main characters. For the most part when I controlled Graves, Lang backed me up reasonably well giving some covering fire while I advanced and the same thing occurred when I took control of Lang. Gameplay reminds me alot of the SWAT series (great series BTW) where you would run point and direct your other 3 SWAT members under your command to do various tasks depending on the present situation. I have no issues about the control save when you're leaning --- you can't move forwrd, strafe and the like as in some fps games. As for the camera, no issues that I personally encountered that interfered in my enjoyment of the game. Graphics to me seem a bit dated when compared to the Source, Unreal and especially the Crytek engine; could just be me. Good fun overall.

I mentioned this game almost a year ago and the pre-vis that preceded this game's development 2 years ago. Now finally, this game is soon to set its mark for all Star Wars fans! Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a bridge that joins Episodes 3 and 4. It is being developed for the DS, PS2, PS3, X360 and the Wii. Release date is currently set for April 8/08. Finished this game about a month ago (forgot about this thread...) and here are my final thoughts on the game: O U T S T A N D I N G ! ! ! Sorry to have to say this but Uncharted has much more fun gameplay than Tomb Raider. Uncharted is briskly paced and as such, the puzzles that you do encounter are not bumper stumpers. It is an action/adventure so puzzles, unlike the Tomb Raider games, are not put on the forefront. Someone mentioned the wall run in Tomb Raider and that Uncharted copied/imitated it; if I'm not mistaken, the first of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia trilogy had this before TR did (and executed without a rope or vine for that matter). I'll admit that Uncharted does borrow from TR, but also the hiding behind walls while in a gunfight from Gears of War. This type of gunfight actually forces you to shoot tacticly, otherwise, should you run out of ammo or happen to pick some up along the way dropped by fallen enemies, your final option would be to engage the enemy mano-a-mano and in this respect, the game does great as well. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is an absolute must-have for PS3 console owners. Here's hoping for a aequel!

I downloaded the demo tonight and it wasn't too bad. For what it was worth, I enjoyed it. The demo gives you exactly 10 minutes to complete as much as possible within that time frame. Within this timeframe and depending on how far you get, you're introduced to different melee moves and whatnot. The fighting reminds me a lot of Bloodrayne come to think of it. I'm going to do as much as possible so as to actually finish the demo --- otherwise, you have to start from the very beginning. BTW, release date is on February 5/08.

I will say that I'm not all too familiar with the previous installments but I've been informed by a fellow gamer friend of mine that even Spawn and Heinichi? also made guest appearenaces in one of the Soul Calibur game series.

You know, just out of curiosity's sake, I looked back as to when the last post was made regarding Dreamfall --- waaay back to April of last year. No heart attack here, lol . In any case, it's nice to know that you've finally finished the game and enjoyed to boot. ... then play HL2 Episodes 1 and 2 .... watch out for the infamous never ending (so it seemed anyway) cut and paste levels near the end of the game (what were those developers thinking?). Great game nevertheless.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3) I'm on the last chapter "Showdown" fighting Navarro but I keep dying --- so close to the ending and yet so far! lol I'm a bit frustrated so I didn't attempt to finish off the game today. Mass Effect (X 360) Ongoing....... The Witcher (PC) Started it today just to get a feel of it. An rpg/action/adventure game. Most likely won't touch it until I've finished the other rpg game, Mass Effect. Edit: I forgot about Folklore (PS3) --- that's on an ongoing basis too.
