Well I'm back from a lovely fortnights hols. Bude (Cornwall) was lovely - it was hot and sunny every day. Son did lots of surfing, I did lots if sitting on the beach. Dog liked the sea and sand but was scared of the waves.

Dartmoor (Devon) was great too - we got some good walks in, we did several tors (large hills with rocks on the top - or mountains depending which end of the walk it was!) We stayed in a lovely cottage with grounds - not a garden, it had it's own wood and lake and a river at one side, my son kept asking how many times our garden would fit!

We had a Cornish cream tea the first week and a Devon cream tea the next - of course. This is a must if you visit these counties and consist if tea (to drink) and home made scones with jam and clotted cream - these have to be in little pots so you put them on the scone yourself. Yummmmy.

We also had Cornish icecream - very creamy, and Cornish pasties - the real ones really taste so much better than Ginsters.

I've never been to Bude but used to stay in Padstow quite a bit when I was a kid and I always remember it as being a very beautiful part of the country

Just got back at 1:00am last night, from South France. It was good, even though i felt Ill ( headaches, feeling sick and bad cold ) for most of it which was kinda dissapointing.

But had fun =) We went to Aquatica,. this waterpark place which rocked.

The security now though is very tight. We were censored once, scanned once, patted down ( dunno another name for it lol ) twice and had our bags searched twice. I felt very safe.

Blimey, sounds like we just missed each other, Angel, lol. I've just returned from a two week break in Westward Ho! North Devon, about 30(ish) miles from Bude. I must confess I've always been a lover of Cream Teas, although I haven't endulged nearly as much as I would have liked, lol. The weather was good for the duration of our stay with the exception of a few days. I must say I was intrigued by the illustruous Lundy Island I saw in the distance, lol....

Wb to all who've just returned from their 'holidays', or as we say here, vacations, lol. Sorry I haven't been around much, just to check my email & pm's, but I've been working a lot. Anyway, wanted to drop everyone a line here to say I'm going away this Friday until after the first week in September. We're driving down to Florida to see family & swim in the freshwater springs there. Have a great rest of the summer, everyone! I should be online more after I come back, as the kids go back to school here & the library should be less busy, and quiet!

Thanks, Cliffy! I'm Back!!! Florida was wonderful, and the area I was in had almost no effects from Hurricane Ernesto. My sis, who lives near the bottom of FL, came up on the worst day of the storm to enjoy our nice weather. We all went to the springs together, and only had a bit of rain. This extremely white computer junkie now has a tan.

Hmm, i'm on vacation right now. Just staying at home taking it easy.

I'm off to Berlin tomorrow for 3 days - really looking forward to it as I've never been before.

When we get home I have the rest of the week off - and knowing in advance of the workload I have waiting for me back at work I want to make the most of not doing too much like hard work.
