They're already selling hot cross buns here! Easter isn't for ages, and their excuse is "they're popular". Yes, for Easter!

Verizon Wireless! Stop Calling Me! We didn't call Customer Service today! Stop calling us to ask us to do a survey on our experience with your Customer Service. Stop Texting us about it too! (I should call back and say we are not satisfied because they are harassing us over it: 4 calls with 4 voice mail and 6 texts in the last 45 min alone!) I did try to call back and speak with a Customer Service Representative to tell them that they called the wrong number for the survey but it wants me to enter a security password on my keypad and I don't know the password, so it will say connecting you to a customer service representative, this call may be monitored or recorded for training purposes and then after 2-3 min, with no background music whatsoever and no one coming on, it disconnects you. My answer to their customer service experience survey if I had to take one? FAIL! FAIL! FAIL! SUCKS! SUCKS! SUCKS!

Top companies with worst customer service (from my personal experience) in 2012: Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bank of America, Sears, Wells Fargo Bank, Safeway.

The AT&T Tech Support Rep told me the UVerse outage was limited to a few customers! Limited? I was affected for over 10 hours. The 4 different Tech Support websites NON-AFFILIATED with AT&T that I go to said it was Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennesse, Louisiana and a couple of other States. I wouldn't call that LIMITED. I call that TOTAL FAILURE by AT&T and TOTAL BREACH OF CONTRACT in providing the service they promised!! Typical AT&T and their LIES! Unless AT&T also want to claim all the people that posted to those 4 websites and posted their exact City and State location were lying! I already called AT&T and told them to credit me for at least 1 day of service outage or they will hear from the FTC, FCC, Texas Attorney General Office, PUC and BBB!

I was at the grocery store yesterday.
They had rib eye steaks on sale and I went to the meat department to get some.
A woman was blocking a section of the meat aisle with her shopping cart, right in front of the steaks that were on sales.
I said to her:
"Excuse me M'am, do you mind moving your cart a bit so I can look at those steaks too?"
She looked at me, said nothing and did nothing and she went back to looking through those same steaks.
I guess she didn't want anyone else beside her to have any or she wanted to have top pick of them first!
I did consider moving her cart out of the way for her but her purse was in it right up on top in front where you put a toddler.
I didn't want her to accuse me of trying to steal her purse or taking stuff out of it.

Some people at the grocery store are just inconsiderate.

Especially the ones that are down an aisle looking at something on the shelves and they have their cart blocking the entire aisle.

You can't even walk by them while carrying a hand basket much less push a shopping cart past them.

By the way, that lady that blocked the meat section with her cart was an African woman.

She went down from one end of the meat section to the other and filled her cart with beef, chicken, pork, sausages, lamb.

She was stacking them up in the cart, a stack here for chicken yea high, a stack here for beef yea higher, etc etc

I saw her later at checkout at the register next to the one I was standing at and she paid for everything with a SNAP card (a food stamp debit card).

So technically speaking, I PAID for her food!

So I go to buy tires for my car...

I first look on their website, Discount Tires, a nationally well known tire chain store in the U.S. for the tires that match my vehicle.

I enter the make and model and year of my car and their website matches several tires in stock at their stores in my area that will fit my car.

They start at $50 each for the lowest priced no name brand to $142 each for the highest priced made by Michelin.

I pick something in between, at around $58 each, made by Fisk with a customer's rating of 8.0, 50,000 miles warranty, speed rating of S (113 mph).

Speed Rating:

I check the inventory for the stores near me and I pick the closest location that has these tires in stock ready to be installed.

I go there and tell them I want 4 Fisk tires for $58 each and I ask them how much will it cost to install them including spin/balancing/valve stem/disposal fees/taxes etc.

The guy is telling me he can't put those tires on my car.

I ask him why? That's one of 22 choices that came up on their website when I entered my vehicle's year, make and model.

Are they not the same size as the tires that's already on my car?

He said they are the same size but my car manufacturer's recommend a speed rating of H or higher - it means $130 miles per hour or higher to the max of 160 miles per hour!

So he wants me to get the higher priced tire with a speed rating of H and those are $98 each - and that 's the cheapest one that goes on my car with the H speed rating.

Excuse me?

My speedometer tops out at 160 mph.

I never taken it past 130 mph and that was just one time a long time ago when I wanted to see how fast the car will go.

I am sure it will go faster than 130 mph and closer to 160 mph but I never pushed it that fast.

Most of the time, my average speed in the city is 35-40 mph on surface road and 50-60 mph on a good day on the freeway or the tollway driving around within the city limits.

When I am traveling out of town on the open interstate and highway, the speed limit is here 65mph-75mph.

Now that I have my children in my car, I never take it past 70mph.

So the original tires I picked with the speed rating of S, 113 mph would be overkill already.

So I went to another store, not Discount Tire, one in the Mexican side of town and got 4 brand new tires for $52 with 40,000 miles warranty and a speed rating of H, 130 mph - and those tires are on the list of recommended brand of tires for my car:

they were not just P205/65R15.

Funny how Discount Tire didn't have any H speed rating tires for under $60.

I think Discount Tires is telling that BS so I will have to get the more expensive tires.

They also nickel and dime you on top of the price of tires with spin and balancing and valve stem and disposal fees, which adds almost another $14 to the price of each tire.

Lord forbid if you want to get their ripoff road hazard warranty too.

That's another $16 per tire.

So a $58 tire will end up costing $88 each drive out NOT INCLUDING TAX.

There is nothing Discount about Discount Tire!

Edited by J7Dadda

Sounds to me the person at that Discount Tire store haggled you out of the tires you wanted. You got to stand firm and tell them put the tires you want on your car. Oh and the last time i went there for tires, they didn't ask me about the road hazard warranty because it wasn't included with what i purchased.

The road hazard warranty is not included with any tires.

It's an additional cost and they will always push it here at Discount Tires and NTB.

It's like selling an extended warranty when you buy a computer plus the person who writes up your order gets a bonus for every road hazard warranty they sell.

I bought it before when I had my old pick up truck and it's a ripoff.

I had a flat on a new tire from Discount Tire that was only 1 month old.

I picked up a big nail and it was deep into the tire.

Went to Discount Tire to claim the warranty which says when you pick up a nail, they will fix or replace the tire for free.

They wouldn't do it. They said it's not covered because the nail is in some part of the tire so it's not fixable/patchable and that also voided the free replacement part of the warranty.

I had to buy a new tire they said.

I told them forget it, I will go somewhere else.

I wrote the corporate office and raised hell and was told that they told me wrong.

I made them reimburse me for the price of the tire that went flat, the price of the road hazard warranty on all 4 tires and the price of a new tire I had to get somewhere else.

The district manager said he would send me a check and I told him I wouldn't take a check, I want cash.

I demanded that I will go back to that same discount tire that sold me the road hazard warranty and then negated on it for the cash and to have it ready within 30 minutes.

It's a business and I am sure they have a safe where they keep some cash on hands and don't give me the BS that they don't.

Yup, I got my cash within 30 minutes.

I had an account in good standing with Bank One for years.

Then in 2006, Chase took over on Monday, and any deposit and transactions I made on the weekend, they took the transactions first and the cash deposit after causing my account to go into overdraft at $34 overdraft fee per each transaction, charged every other day over and over.

I never been in overdraft with that account before in the years I had it.

Before the end of the week, I was almost $764 in the hole. I had no choice but to close my account, see it go on my credit, fight them in court and have the bad credit mark removed.

Then the State of NY Attorney General filed a Class Action Lawsuit against Chase because they did the same thing they did to me to 10 of 1000's of other Chase and Bank One account holders.

Chase lost.

That was last year.

I finally received my check today.

Guess HOW MUCH IT IS and HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE?

I'm guessing that it isn't very much at all, since with class-action lawsuits the only people who benefit are the lawyers <_<

Yup!

You are correct.

Keep in mind that:
the settlement was $110 million.
Chase illegally ran up over $700 worth of fees on my account and made 2 of my checks bounce, one of them being a mortgage payment.
I had to close my account that I had for years in good standing with Bank One.
I had to deal with collection agency harassment and a bad credit mark.
When they tried to collect on the debt, I took them to court and have the judge throw the debt out and have the mark removed from my credit report.
Well, I got $1.94.
What a freaking joke!

I've stayed away from the big banks for a while now. My checking and savings account are with a small bank called Community One, they're pretty much based in NC. I've never had any problems with this bank

I almost had a traffic accident yesterday.

I was traveling Eastbound and going through the intersection.

The light was green and has been green before I'd even entered the intersection.

It's not like I was stopped at the red light and it just turned green.

If that was the case, I always look left and right before moving.

If the people behind me want to honk at me for not moving fast enough when the light turns green, tough!

This pickup truck going Northbound ran the red light and came barreling down through the intersection;

I saw him and I put the pedal to the metal.

He missed my passenger's side rear quarter panel by about half a car length and he also missed the front end of the car coming up behind me in the lane next to me.

If that car was in the intersection a couple of seconds sooner, he would had been t-boned.

That truck didn't stop or brake.

I didn't hear any screeching sound of brakes being applied.

It also just kept going; it didn't stop and I wasn't able to get a license plate.

All I know is it was a white pick up truck.

Every day I see stupid drivers out there.

They are either distracted by cell phones and GPS navigation and whatever gadgets are built in a car nowadays.

Some of them are just too stupid to drive:

they don't have the brain power to operate a 3000-4000 lbs motor vehicle and make constant, split seconds decisions while doing it.

Most of you know where i work at by now. I can't get over the fact i hear customers say, when i have on a headset, while at the drive thru speaker "I can't see the menu." Now i know its middle of the day and the sun is shining bright, put on some sunglasses, but if you really can't see something a couple of feet iaway. Why would you be driving a car?

Amazon and their Delivery Dates...

I ordered an item last week and the delivery date was for Thursday, the 26th.

The item was filled by Amazon fulfillment center, not by one of their 3rd party sellers.

I paid for FEDEX shipping and for the past 2 days, looking at the FEDEX tracking, the item was not shipped by FEDEX.

It was shipped by FEDEX smart post which means it's been languishing somewhere in the U.S. Postal System.

Once it arrives in my city, it's released by FEDEX to the U.S. Post Office and the final leg of the trip, getting it to my house is handled by the U.S. Postal Service.

I think that is so DECEITFUL and CROOKED on Amazon's part.

You think you are paying for FEDEX and it even gives you a Delivery date of the 26th, but of course that date doesn't take into account how long it will take the U.S. Postal Service to get the package to you.

I GOOGLE FEDEX Smartpost and I am finding all kind of horror stories: FEDEX doesn't know where your package is at, call the Post Office.

The Post Office doesn't know where your package is because once it's released to them by FEDEX, the FEDEX tracking number is useless.

Or the Post Office says it's not our responsibility even if it's a FEDEX Smartpost, call FEDEX.

So in essence everyone is passing the buck and blaming the other.

This is only the 4th time I've ordered from Amazon and in the past, they have never used FEDEX Smartpost.

If I chose UPS or FEDEX, it was always UPS and FEDEX that brought my item to my front door.

Therefore, here are my 2 questions:

Is the Delivery Date posted by Amazon when you placed the order Guaranteed?

Can I hold Amazon to it and make them give me a full refund for my item and I still keep the item?

p.s. I did look at the help section on Amazon and it's so garbled and double talk now.

I don't know about getting a full refund and keeping the item, but if you've paid for a certain type of delivery service, then yes, I would say you're entitled to a postage and handling refund.

Its stupid that I have to risk my life driving to work on icy roads. Taco Bell would rather make money than be closed for a day. I swear if I wreck today the people I work with will see a side of me they haven't seen.

People who just don't get the hint!

I knew a girl in high school, and one day my friends and I just didn't talk to her any more.

Now I know that sounds bad - it does sound like a terrible thing to do when you read it like that.

Anyway, a couple of years back she got in contact with me and for the life of me I couldn't remember why we all stopped talking to her.

Then, it was actually about a year ago, it all came flooding back. She was rude, aggressive, manipulative and just straight out thought she was in charge of everything and it all had to go her way.

What p***ed me off the most (excuse my language) was the fact that she thought she could be that way towards my family. Especially towards my youngest sister, who was two years old at the time and just being inquisitive as all children are. That, and she tried to teach her how to say penis because she thought she heard her say gay (she said game, because big sis is a gamer) -- I was like "she's two, have you heard a two year old child have the most perfect speech in the world?"

What topped the cake was when I didn't answer my phone -- because I was working --

and received a text along the following lines: "Why u no answer u f***ing c**t".

Was that how it was? If I didn't immediately drop everything I was doing and run to her every beck and call, that's how I was perceived?

And so from that point, I simply ignored her completely and blocked any communication. One text I had in my blocker had her asking what she did (with some more language) -- I don't feel like I should have to explain it to her if she can't see it herself. It won't help, because she won't change, and that's just not something I need in my life.

I do wonder if I went about it the right way, but then I think, a real friend would never do things like that.

Edited by Morph

You did the right thing, Morph.

You don't need her kind of bad influence around your sister.

Since you have her blocked and are not responding to her calls and texts, sooner or later she will give up and go bother someone else.

Now and I am hoping it won't go this far, if she starts making physical threats either in her electronic communication to you or showing up at your door in person, I would report it immediately to the law enforcement authorities.

Next time I will tell them the road are frozen out of your neighborhood and you can't make it or your car is frozen solid and you can't even get the door open.

Gia didn't go to work the other day because of the winter weather.

Her neighbor tried to back out of their driveway and ended up doing a 180 in the driveway because of the ice.

We made the decision on Sunday to close our stores on Tuesday because of the ice and snow that was coming.

It was the right decision too.

The entire city of Houston was shut down on Tuesday and we barely got 1/2 inch of ice and snow and sleet mixed with rain but it was cold enough for it to freeze up on the surface of the roadways and highways.

But this is Houston. It can rain for 10 min and drivers panic and the traffic becomes a mess!

There was a young mother who went to work during the ice and snow storm that hit Dallas in December and lasted for 4 days.

Her employer told he if she didn't show up, she was fired.

Well, she ended up dead when she slid off the Lewisville Lake bridge into the icy water of the lake.

I don't think it would go that far. Bonus is she doesn't know where I live any more, since I've moved from that area.

That's good that she doesn't.
