I saw the movie Next,it was quite good!

So anybody seen Spider Man 3 yet? and if yes, then how was it?

I just saw it today. It was a let down for me. Not enough villian development,too much Parker going emo from the black/symbiont suit,not enought Venom. Too much campiness/comedy.

Personally I liked Next better.

I just saw Spiderman 3 today. I disagree that it was a letdown, Hardkore. For me, it was the best Spiderman yet. I enjoyed the whole emo thing, along with the comedy, but I just like humor, I guess. I do agree about Venom's bit being too short. I expected him to have a longer part of the story. The effects were done fairly well, including the Sandman scenes. At first Thomas Hayden Church (sp?) seemed to be an odd choice for Sandman, since I've mainly seen him do spoofs and comedies, but he fit well.

On a side note, we took the whole family, and were annoyed that the theater's sound cut out in a scene where Spidey's getting the key to the city. Fortunately, it means all of us got free movie passes good for any movie, including opening weekend. Helloooo Pirates 3!!!

I've seen the Next trailers too - they look good.

I'm thinking of seeing the film but the reviews haven't been so good here.

It seems like the fan reviews that I read were 50/50 on this. I didn't mind some of the humor

like in Bruce Cambells scene at the restaurant ,that was gold! Then there was when JJ tried to buy the camera from the girl during the fight with Sandman and Venom. That took away from the tension building and I thought we could do with out that. As far as the emo thing,i could go to the comics and show where the black suit just made him more of a meany/bad*$$ instead of struting around like a mini- Travolta during Saturday Night Fever. Instead I'll mention where Doc Connors says it is drawn to and enhances aggression,so it would be more natural for him to be mean instead.

There was one review that I agree with,if they built up to the end with the black suit,then rips off the symbiont and lands on Brock. That would lead into Spiderman 4 where Venom could get ample time thru the movie.

lol! we saw it too on Monday and loved it! although I do sort of get Hardkore's point, his dancing scenes were excrutiating to watch, but I think that was intended.

I've only ever seen Thomas Hayden Church in Sideways (which I love) - what else has he been in AJ?

I've seen him in Wings, the movie George of the Jungle (there's a scene with him and a gorilla you've just got to see!), and some bit parts in other movies, although I see Hardkore provided the link, lol.

I agree, j7...it's just not the same without Arnold. I'm not a huge Arnold fan, really, but he just made the whole Terminator image, and I can't see having someone else star in it.

Me too Purp! gotta luv Shrek! We have hundreds of DVDs in our house, but, for some reason, whenever there's nothing on the TV, we always end up putting the loveable big green ogre on - hehe! and the 3rd looks every bit as funny as the first 2! Will hopefully see soon - I've already booked our tickets for POTC3 for next Friday - yaaay!
