  1. It should be possible for ingame Lara to sit down, for instance when a player gets in position, a cut scene could temporarily take over of Lara sitting and pulling the seat in. Then it goes back to the player who clicks the mouse on a computer (for PC) or press X for on and O for off (PS3) and uses the other computers (triangle to delete and square to start the program or print). The player should also frequently trip up cutscenes, such as kneeling at a laptop on the floor and using it like an AOD interactive. When outside, the player will see other FMVs interacting with other characters as well as objects. I assume the PS3 has an internal clock/calender/time zone indicator like the PS2. It would be difficult to synchronize the two, but a day to night indicator (ala Dead Or Alive Xtreme for X-Box) would be a good idea. There's a sign near the sundial saying "Courtyard open from 11 to 7." Get it, 11 - 2 - 7? I wanted CD to make that literal, and the gates would open then like a timed bank vault. In addition, Lara's father's Grandfather clock and Coo-Coo clock should also work.
  2. There's something like that now. It's called The Sims (Hot Date and up). It worked for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
  3. http://tombraiderinc.com/ is the official portal of the Tomb Raider community (includes Crystal Dynamics newsletter).
  4. It may (repeat MAY, nothing is engraved in stone) also be on Xbox 360. The high definition environments make it necessary to be on these consoles. Crystal Dynamics doesn't have the time to copy God of War.

As I said in my PM, that bit of media is a song not a video. The very same song sung by the very same person on the video. Like before, files were not posted on the forum itself. To play the video you must exit LCO.

I assumed it was deleted because it was in the wrong forum outside of a similar thread. Why don't you take a look in the LCO goodies section. Rhona Mitra's Hit Song "Getting Naked" I ask once again, could this be the case that Planet Croft doesn't want to give up its video? I'd like to think he did ask permission first.
  7. I know, it sounded ridiculous to me too considering the source (Sony of America graphics designer and former janitor). 2020 - 2030 sounds more like the correct year, but there would be no launch titles with it (not backwards compatible), so the PS3 will stick around for awhile.
  8. Tomb News, Tomb Raider Chronicles, and our own LCO News have all indicated that there WILL be another Tomb Raider movie whenever Angelina is ready (script already drafted). I suspect it will be a computer generated AJ that she can manipulate with her movements at great distances. It's suspected it will not take place in exotic locals (all England) in favor of more flashbacks. A clue is in Tomb Raider Legend with her friend Amanda. Expect it around 2010 (give or take).
  9. Now that I have G4 ("Attack Of The Show" ComiCon and E3 specials), I won't need to watch some SpikeTV shows. G4 also has a TGS special (is that in November?). Wow this thread is from 2006! Still sexy as ever.
  10. I forgot to respond to this. Nice going Tom, good to know Eidos is looking out for it's previous forum members. I was kinda hoping Marcus Trogen would be in there somewhere.
  11. I hoped someone would start this. I couldn't find a way to duplicate it exactly, but on the blown up bridge, I missed the second jump and was off target. Lara's chest went through the boards, landing her motercycle on the other side. Another time she jumped under the bridge, landing on the ground nearby. In Croft Manor, I went into the gym and grappled that half moon thing to make it come down before I was supposed to. It worked anyway. Lara climbed on nothing, going right through the object.
  12. That's what I thought when I first saw her in Unfinished Business (in intro), but then I realized she is supposed to look like that being a demon mutant posing as an Atlantian.
  13. I'll look for the source, but what it said was a Sony worker (former janitor) predicted it would come out sooner than predicted, but he did say that even if he is wrong, Sony of America has been working on it in secret, and with the exception of the Cell technology, all of its hardware (the Internet part) will be American made, and maybe some of the software. Sony may be working with Project Epoc technology which parallels Sony's patent (method and apparatus for realistic motion and emotion scanning through video games and interactive imagery). Despite what the article says, you do not just think and the avatars move. It emulates your body movements without wires or attachments like Nintendo's controller, but you sympathize with the character, and decisions are made from your personality. A race car driver might suddenly slow down when you see his engine overheating, or you can decide to kill or not to kill upon seeing what the effects of it would be to the characters. It seems PS4 doesn't have a specified launch date, but Sony execs said it will be out sometime before 2060. PS3 however will get a facelift this winter, like the PS2 slim edition, but PS3 will still be bulky.
  14. I feel obligated to say: If you are a hacker and want to try this, ask Crystal Dynamics for permission to hack their game and freely distribute it first. My idea includes cheats (hacks that must be done in the air). #1 The Fly Fishing Cheat This doesn't mean Lara goes fly fishing. She flies as she's fishing. She does a normal jump and grapple, but when she's vertical (not swinging) the grappler turns invisible and doesn't register as being there. You can now hold action and press run to watch her climb in mid air, or release the non existent grappler and use the grappler in any direction (doesn't have to be on a ring) to move forward as if she is pulling in something. Note: This is not the same as flying. She just hovers. #2 Swinging In Air This is just a normal pole swing on an invisible pole that can detach from the cliff and glide through the air. As long as Lara keeps swinging or holding on to nothing, she will not fall. Swing to move forward. Stop swinging to hover. Turn and swing to move back. The up arrow moves the bar up. The down arrow moves the bar down. Position the camera so Lara is in profile, and press the left or right arrows to tilt the bar in that direction. Lara will be in a Superman pose to fly through crawlspaces. #3 Neverending Balance Jump on a pillar so Lara is on 1 foot. Wait until she looses her balance before using the cheat. When she puts out her arms to keep balance, the pillar will vanish. Lara will start to violently squirm, like she's flapping her arms. This is when she takes off to the skies. Unfortunately, she can only go in 4 directions without proper navigation (arrow keys). This is done purposely though, to give the gamer a chance to fail. #4 Forward Jumping Flight (self explanatory) This one can only be used in all Peru levels on all skill levels, and Croft Manner in hard mode. I don't have the right specs, so I can't play a demo, but I'll settle for screenshots.
  15. That doesn't look like any bottle I've seen before.
  16. It would help me to know what one looks like so I can pick it up. An artifact is a white crystal, but what does a relic look like?
  17. The steps leading down into a hallway that exits into the garden gave me an idea. We need to see a third level of the manor (the cellar), where Lara's dad used to do his most secret work (in a passage behind some wine bottles). That grated hole in the pool tunnel could lead to a ladder going down to the cellar. When jumping to the alcove to get the 7th silver elephant in the gym, you can push a button to open the pool drain, but it has to be done before you turn the water valve with the wrench. When the drain is open, there is a big stone in the way. Push it like you did in TRL. The stone will roll and land on a pressure pad right near the ladder. The pad opens a trap door below the ladder.
  18. PS4 is supposed to come out next year (predicted launch 12/31/07) and bring down the cost of PS3. Do you think you can hold out till then?
  19. That explains it, it works on the PC only. If he was working the PS2, it could not be done successfully. However, I haven't seen the T-Rex yet, and I'm in The Lost Valley.
  20. I wish I could help, but I don't exactly follow you. Let's walk though this together. After the doors open and you see your stats, shoot the charging bear while jumping with the crouch/roll button. Enter the village and shoot 3 wolves. Wait for another bear attack before diving in the pool. Before I give it all away, can you give me a little more detail on your problem?
  21. I really wish I had known that before. I'm down to The Lost Valley (2 cogs) and now have to start over (on easy mode). I kept starting over cause I missed stuff. Now I find out I don't have to get anything. I wish those walkthroughs, or even the included instruction book made that clear ahead of time. The split second pausing should be obvious (most noticeable in Croft Manner exit to garden). It freezes for a moment, because a new scene is loading overlapping the one that is finishing, in this case it's the cutscene. What I hate has more to do with the Sony controller than the game. It's when Lara jumps on a pillar landing on 1 foot. As soon as she lands, the controls automatically turn. When you have her just right, and press triangle to regain her balance, the last movement you made on the pillar will register even if you aren't touching the controls. This is similar to high jumps (Mountain Caves). I have only found 2 cogs on this profile. I did find the third once, but I forgot where that was. I don't know if you've gotten to it yet, but if you want more kills, another pack of wolves is waiting for you after you get the second cog and after inserting the third. When you get the second cog and kill the bats, swing to where you were before, but instead of climbing down, just drop off where the water bends. The current will take Lara around the corner and down the waterfall without hurting her. I think this was a mistake, and Crystal Dynamics should have added some slippery stones and jagged rocks in the river bed, so there's an equal chance she might not survive.
  22. You mean you're making the game from scratch? I have a few ideas for cheats (although I originally thought they should be patches). Cool patches if they existed (family friendly) For clothing, I was thinking of some themed clothes for more dressier areas like her red silky dress, and the black tight one. Concept: Lara must go undercover in various disguises to get information from a mole in Natala Corp. and other underground sources. Example in exotic locals: Hawaiian silk wrap around skirt, flower print armless bathing suit, and flower in hair (pun about getting leied needed).
  23. Thanks AngelR and Stella. I'll print that section and screenshots right away! I'm using the Tomb Raider Chronicles (site) walkthrough, but as you said, this might be the most helpful. I'm also having trouble in the mountain caves. It looks like I've done everything, but it appears I haven't. 0/1 Relic I want to unlock those glasses. I'm sure you can tell I bought this on September 2nd. I really wish the PS2 can have saved games with cheats and rewards, like a bonus disk or TR:A Gold version. I saw a video of a new level if the game is 100 percent finished. I hope I get that good someday, but seeing I never finished TRLR and TRC, I don't expect I ever will. Edit: Hey, I did it! Couldn't have done it without Stella's help. Thanks again.
  24. Spoilers (as if you don't already know it) #1 is in a glass case in the library #2, #3, and #4 are in the maze beyond the sundial #5 is behind a wall panel in the library #6 is in the gym (from ramp 2) #7 is in the gym #8 is in the pool tunnel between the pool room and the gym I can never get the #7. How can I get to it? I'm still learning how to jump (easy level), such as the gun lock jump (discovered in The Mountain Caves in Peru).
  25. The last I heard the Nintendo Wii (cut in price this winter - $300 - $2??) is beating out both Xbox 360 (cut in price in the Spring of 2008) and PS3 (cut in price in the Summer of 2008). Depending on Nintendo's price drop, both Microsoft and Sony will lower the price on their consoles to compete. It just so happens cheaper components can be made for both consoles. Nintendo might also be issuing another model by 2010, to go with their new "mind control" controller (I bet Sony is kicking themselves for dropping the patent earlier this year).
