Definitely what she's doing is right & noble. I just worry that she's overdoing it...she looks sometimes like she's wearing herself thin. But you're right, BP, I shouldn't judge.

Ok, you know I love AJ dearly, but I think she's moving too fast. I know there's a big difference for her with all her wealth and the ability to have hired help, but 4 kids is a lot -- take it from me. She should at least wait a couple of years before she does this. It's not just the money...as they get older, they're incredibly hard to keep track of (organizing wise, like their activities) and the attention they need sometimes increases, because it's not just feed me/change me/play with me. Maybe this is her way of coping with the loss of her Mom? I don't know.

Thanks for the warning, jedicri! I'm just playing the whole game either when no one's home or with my earphones. It reduces my gameplay time, but also my parental guilt, lol. I look forward to unlocking the Gag Option! And, yes, it definitely grabbed my interest. This is kinda disappointing. I really prefer a game that has a long gameplay time. While shorter games are easier for me to complete with my busy schedule, I like getting my money's worth. I also like getting wrapped up in the story as it progresses and you watch the character change through a longer storyline. You're right about not waiting long stretches between games, though, so that is a plus. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Since it's in pre-production, I guess I have time to finish both games! Well, jedicri, I decided to stop playing Dreamfall for now and started The Longest Journey. (Btw, thanks for the link, though I had seen it before I read your post, and decided earlier to get TLJ first.) I did keep playing Dreamfall until I got TLJ, because, well, I'm obsessed. TLJ is great, especially given how old it is. I wasn't prepared for some of the rough language and innuendo, so I'm glad I have earphones, lol. I'm not that far into it, of course, but from what I've seen, I can't imagine doing too much else in my free time for a while. It runs fairly smoothly, and many of the characters and scenery I've seen are referenced in Dreamfall. I can see exactly why I needed to play this first. Otherwise, playing TLJ afterwards would be like watching a flashback. This way, I'm getting a history on these characters, and watching April develop from a college student to someone who's a little less self-absorbed. Some of her sense of humor reminds me of Lara!

I voted for buying when Service Pack 1's released. I was going to upgrade our 3 main computers right away, but I think I'd rather wait. By then, the major bugs will be discovered, and released in one easy patch. I'm not worried about anything specific, but I'm sure a bunch of hackers out there are going to try to find all the security flaws possible. At least with Service Pack 1, most of the major security flaws and program bugs will be found. For now, XP's running fine on our 5 computers, so I don't feel like putting out the expense, although I'm dying to give Vista a try.

Thanks for letting us know, Chase! The graphics are sooo great! I can't believe we have to wait until May, but if it means they're working the bugs out, so be it! @ BP: You're going to have a hard time killing the panthers, but those dogs are what get to me! I hate to hear them whimper. Congrats to LCO for being listed in the Fansite section!

A little off topic, but I just had to tell you, I was playing Dreamfall the other day, and the first thing I thought of when I saw the busy street, was, I wonder if Zoe steps off the curb, if I can get her hit by a car? I think you've had a bad influence on me!

I can't believe I'm reviving a thread this old, lol, but I wanted to post about my progress with Dreamfall. I wasn't able to find to many places online that offered the orginal game, but I did get Dreamfall as a gift for Christmas. It is a beautiful game! I'm only on the 2nd chapter right now. (My laptop, which was my only computer for a little while, is unable to play Dreamfall due to an older video card and a small amount of RAM, so I had to take a little break) It has choices on responses to dialogue, which is interesting, though from what I can see, it doesn't make a huge difference in the storyline. The one cool thing I found is the main character, Zoe, is learning Tai Chi. I got to practice against her instructor. The graphics are great, and I love the details in the scenery, such as advertising signs, flowers and plants in the marketplace, and clothing details for each character. There's some technology things, such as hacking a lock with your cell phone, and interacting with intelligent computers that add something I've never had in my games before. I'm still going to order The Longest Journey online. It's about $12-15 US and I think based on your opinion, jedicri, and what I've read online, it'll be worth my money. I also found out I can run it on either computer, so if I put it on my laptop, it'll be portable & I'll be free to be obsessed.

Yeah, well, same here...If our annoying guy's on assistance, then he pays no taxes. About the software...that's hilarious...and exactly how I felt when we installed ours. I actually can type a message before I cancel their turn. For some, I'd like to type: "Does your wife know what you're doing?" Rofl. Or how 'bout: "Do your parents know you're not really doing homework?"

Wow, AngelR...it's kinda ironic how familiar Mr. Obnoxious sounds. Just a bit of humor: wouldn't it be nice to see someone fight to be first to get a book once in awhile??? Lol. Seriously, though, that whole taxpayer thing really ticks me off. One of the guys that does that bit a lot, minus the pushing, lives off government unemployment. He loves to give us speeches about how nice it must be for us to be closed for some smaller holiday, like Veteran's Day or Columbus Day (US only holidays, I know, but you know what I mean). You've got to be kidding me...he doesn't even work! He says he's looking for a job, but it's amazing how many times I walk by and he's on yahoo or google, etc. I hear from the other ladies that have been there longer than me that he once turned down a job offer at a hardware store they recommended to him because he was overqualified. The nerve. We have had teens push a lot...and I hear while I was out sick last week, that they had to call the police! The kids were hopping back and forth between computers, yelling, and trying to get around our new software that puts people in a queue and gives them a time limit. Then, when they were asked to stop, they cursed out my boss and another lady that has worked there for almost 30 yrs.

mezmacko & Morpheanne, I love your work! You both have so much detail in them. I can't draw people for squat, just plants and flowers, so I'm very impressed.

Glad to hear the staff's behind your sis, Morph. I've had a few times where my kids were bullied, and some of the staff, even the prinicipal, didn't back them up. Not that it stopped me from going over their heads, that's for sure. I don't encourage them to fight back brutally or anything, but they should at least protect themselves. I also make sure they know that they can tell me what they did or said in the incident. Sometimes kids who are bullied fault themselves too much for their involvement. Bullies prey on that and like taking stuff way too far. Lockers seem to provoke them for some reason!!! Hope everything works out, and the teacher that told her she was wrong is reprimanded.
