Thanks, AngelR! I did spend most of my money, but I managed to pick up a couple of things for myself. Mostly clothes, but also a cute stuffed manatee. I know I'm a bit old, lol, but I couldn't resist the typical tourist souvenir. Thanks, Cliffy! Beaches are beautiful to look at, but the jellyfish freak me out. We have months here on the Atlantic coast where the jellyfish can get pretty intense. I prefer springs or lakes. We do go to the beach once in awhile, but I mostly just look for shells. Besides, the jellyfish were there first, so I'll let 'em have it to themselves.

Well, I'm back from Florida. I checked in a couple of times on a wireless connection, but it was so slow, I just got to read a bit, not post much. We had beautiful weather -- no hurricanes! I especially enjoyed seeing manatees up close in the Springs, not behind glass, and seeing an otter in the wild. I did lots of shopping, too.

Welcome back, AngelR! Glad you got to have some good weather while you were gone. Lol @ the laundry...I hear you!! We'll be leaving for our vacation to Florida tomorrow (Friday). We'll be back the first week in September. Wish us luck, as we're driving down (as usual) and we might encounter a hurricane towards the end of our trip. One year the hurricane was so bad we were almost stuck there, which'd be fine with us, but not our jobs, lol. Hope everyone has a good rest of the summer. If I get a chance to check my email from a wireless connection, I may be able to stop in once or twice while we're gone, but it's not too likely.

Letters from Iwo Jima was good, also. We saw that last month. I think Clint Eastwood did a nice job piecing everyone's sides of the story together. I'm dying to see the new Bourne movie...but I may have to wait until the end of Aug/ beginning of Sept. (hopefully it'll still be in theaters) I just love the whole idea for the stories. I have to admit, tho, I've never made it completely through the books they're based on -- they're huge!

We just watched Shooter with Mark Wahlberg last night. It was pretty good! Lots of action, not too many sappy parts, and some funny stuff, too. Rhona Mitra was in it! She played an FBI contact that was in several parts of the film. I'd recommend it for any that haven't seen it yet -- it's on DVD now.

I finally finished Peru!! I'm so happy. I wish there was more interaction in the fight with Larson, but it still was pretty cool. I'm partway through the Greek gods. Just have Poseidon & Damocles left. I love this game! My time for this level's probably going to be off the charts, since I kinda did it in a weird order, but at least I'm doing it! At one point, I had the whole family watching, tense for the next time Lara had to make a difficult jump. Too bad I couldn't take some screenies of the horrible deaths Lara had from these heights (PS2), but I had a laugh at one point, 'cause it looked like she hit her nose on an edge first, then bounced down to the floor. Poor Lara, lol.

I haven't seen Mr. Bean Holiday, but I have seen The Sentinel & Live Free Die Hard. I enjoyed The Sentinel...lots of action, and a pretty good storyline. As for the new Die Hard movie, well...it was amazing! I think the young guy in it is the guy from the PC/Mac commercials. Anyway, the combination of him and Bruce Willis was a great match. The girl they picked for the daughter looked a lot like the actress that played John's (Bruce Willis) wife in the previous movies, and she had lots of attitude. Definitely going to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

I am so happy!!!! I finally got some TR time, and tackled the whole velociraptor/T-rex part. Every time I had some free time, it was like, "Oh, yeah...next is the hard part...nah, I'm too tired." It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be...minus killing Lara several times, lol. I also am proud to say I've found the relics in both the first and second levels with no walkthroughs or hints. If you don't know already, that's a huge step for me!! Onto the next level!

Congrats, Hardkore! I do that a lot with games -- get stuck, move onto another game, and when I come back, it's amazing how well I can do when I'm not going crazy trying stuff over & over. Good luck on finishing!

I haven't played in a while, but I think if you push down the left analog stick, it brings up your targeting circle. Then you can fire. You want to get close enough so that the targeting circle turns red, not gray. I had to try a few times for this one. Good luck!

VonCroyJr. you are unbelievably funny! Thanks for posting all the screenies. I enjoyed looking at your captions to some really frustrating moments. You also reminded me that I'm not finished TR5 -- I left off on Level 8. After TRA, I'm going to fix that. Lol @ the SWIII reference.
