  1. I don't have 4K but already posted that in some ways the game doesn't look as good as "Rise". It actually looks like normal definition that has been fudged to make it look like HD and that is without even considering 4K. A screenshot shows clearly that it really is 1920x1080 when delivered to the screen but it still looks like soft focus. This is on two different Xbox One systems connected to two different TVs (which are set to "computer"/whatever). I could be really cynical and suggest they've deliberately done that so a side-by-side comparison of HD and 4K means there is no comparison.
  2. Thanks, Stella. I did a bit more than just zooming in, I looked at all the "1/1", "2/2" items and they were all complete at the appropriate level. Regarding the artifacts, I'd list the ones I have so in principle it might be possible to work out which ones are missing, but the game doesn't present which ones appear at what point so that's not a lot of help. I wonder if there's a walkthrough-in-progress anywhere that is going to list all items in the game with the locations they're found . . . Of course, the question is "why?" Some actions over-write, so to speak, other goings-on in the game. So Lara might be talking to Jonah but if "Eagle Vision" is pressed then that conversation gets killed in favour of her "note to self". I wonder if that kind of thing is relevant in not registering items. Say one's found and the message comes up on the screen but then something else happens that interrupts that process; if the item only registers at the end of the message-coming-up sequence then if it's interrupted maybe the game loses its chance to do the registration. Quick reiterated question - do you know if there is a golden knife skin as there is for the other items? Also I'd be interested if you have the same count of items and outfits, see what I might have missed along the way. I am sure I read something about a community challenge to get a golden dagger skin (I don't think I'm getting mixed up with the real-life dagger that was hidden in the UK) but haven't found a reference to it, maybe I'd been playing the game too much and had a dream - better have a break . . . Cheers
  3. I just finished the game. I am a bit deflated in a, "Oh what a surprise, not," kind of way that the game isn't showing 100%. This is where I have got to: The "load" screen shows "98.92% complete". If I open the map, zoom out and hover over each region, they are all showing 100% and all side-missions and challenges show as complete. I suppose I'd better count the maps and rucksacks, they're not listed, are they? The Artifacts "tab", for want of a better way of putting it, is perhaps part of the problem; most show as complete but the following are not: "Path of the Stars" - 87%, I have seven entries in this so one is missing "Lara's Notebook" - 81%, 9 items so 2 missing "Gates of Hell" - 85%, 6 items so 1 missing "Angel de la Cruz" - 28%, 2 items so 5 missing "The Resistance" - 88%, 8 items so 1 missing "Metamorphosis" - 88%, 8 items so 1 missing "Homecoming" - 83%, 5 items so 1 missing "Myth, Magic & Monsters" - 87%, 7 items so 1 missing "Miracle Mission" - 87%, 7 items so 1 missing "Trinity" - 90%, 9 items so 1 missing At a base camp, I have 6 skills points available and the button has an exclamation mark but, unsurprisingly, all skills have been learned. Also, the inventory has an exclamation mark. In there I have 8 bows, 7 handguns, 5 rifles, 5 shotguns, 2 melee and 2 knives; includes anything from pre-order, Croft edition, season pass and the five golden versions of the normal items (is there a golden knife?) and anything carrying over from owning "TR" and "Rise". There are 22 full body outfits, 9 upper body including 1 I can't craft (Kantu) and excluding 1 that hasn't appeared but should have (Manko), 10 lower body items, there are 15 equipment items. Anyone have any thoughts on what is going on here? Cheers
  4. I put in a support ticket - I think - the SE support site is terrible.
  5. In San Juan I've done the side mission and in theory been given the outfit. I cannot, though, craft it. The resources disappear but the icon changed from the not-crafted one to a broken purple heart. Re-crafting does nothing except use resources. I have read elsewhere that on PS4 restarting the game doesn't help (I'm on Xbox). In terms of "why?", the only slight oddity I can see is I seem to have done part of the mission at the wrong point. I started the mission almost immediately on arrival but did nothing further. I went around the map doing loads of stuff, went elsewhere in the "world" and did stuff there, before returning and doing even more. One of those activities forms part of the mission but I did it before reaching the "right point". When I spoke to the mission-giver, the mission steps on screen flashed up quickly then went to the final one, I was given the outfit but, well, as written above. Another thing I can do but am not hopeful is to go through the motions of doing the tomb in case a trigger point is, um, triggered. I'll also try deleting the local save and see if that does anything but I am not hopeful there either.
  6. thanks, EmbodiedBook - I like to call it "Eagle Vision" which now seems a pretty appropriate poach from "Assassin's Creed" - and it's not the only similarity between the two franchises.
  7. I only found the gold edition items by accident in the real world, just happened to look at an e-mail and not delete it as junk. The items appears promptly in the game, though, so I don't know what to suggest. One thing that is funny is I got the gold shotgun (?) which is for downloading a mobile phone app. I don't have a mobile 'phone at present and didn't download it elsewhere but the game gave it to me anyway. Related to this, and in another e-mail that I think I now deleted but the content of this threat reminded me, is it right that there are challenges out there to get other gold guns? Community challenges or something? Did I understand that right or was it for another game? It wasn't clear and I was too busy to look harder. Cheers!
  8. I noticed the changing markers, too, bit confusing that. How did you start the "Ancient Studies" side-missions? I can't see any clues as to how to do that.
  9. yes, you're right about the cut-scene, I had her in the empress jaguar one so it was a fairly simple silhouette which I felt was quite effective
  10. Thanks for the input. It seems the number of missions is not the main heading but the second-level heading, so Hearts and Minds contributes three missions to the total, based on Stella's screen shots. The problem I have is knowing where and when to look to start the other three, I see no clue at this point in the game. Looking at Stella's screen shots, that means I am still missing Hearts and Minds - retrieve the champion's bow Ancient Studies - decipher the murals Ancient Studies - stop the ritual Where and when do these show up? As mentioned I've just arrived in San Juan. I fast-travelled back to Paititi but can find no indicators or clues as to how to get these started. Certainly the bloke who came up with the first two parts of Hearts and Minds doesn't have a mission to offer. Cheers
  11. I've gone through the oil fields and got to the first camp in the mission where fast-travel is available again. At this point I have done 8 of the 11 side missions in Paititi. How do I get the other three started? There are no markers on the map. I have done: Hearts and Minds - retrieve the king's horn Hearts and Minds - retrieve the saviour's amulet Freedom - free the rebels Freedom - save Colqui Stay of Execution - rescue Hakan Dice with the Dead - find Takiy's dice Dice with the Dead - seek out the outcasts Widow's Tears - investigate Sumaq's murder Cheers!
  12. Hello Big Tyler 08. Just entered the Porvenir oil fields after a cut-scene where she gives Etzli an amulet. Seemed a somewhat sudden exit from the area, basically. She's lost all her equipment, knife included but that doesn't stop her using one for stealth kills. Oh, well . . . ah, done that bit now and can fast-travel again.
  13. I have just been kicked out of Paititi after a big fight. Along the way I tried to work out what was needed for the final challenge in the area. Based on my observations I think it's to do with skeletons in the east bit of the city but I could find no way of actually doing anything to them. Stella's comments elsewhere here seem to confirm my suspicion. How does this one get started?
  14. Hey! What has this game done? I've ended up leaving Paititi and am in the next bit where she gets separated from Jonah (again again again again again). I didn't see any chance to do a few bits and bobs before the game just carried me along. Missing three side missions in Paititi, one challenge (I can see the point on Stella's map where it's marked in the east bit of the hidden city, right under a rope bridge but I saw no clue at all, with or without Eagle Vision, to work out what to do so that one isn't even started, I did notice skeletons crucified on cliff faces, they were glowing in Eagle Vision but I couldn't shoot them or anything), two documents (one is marked on the map in the east bit of the city, perhaps this is what Big Tyler 08 mentioned). I have not got that bow in the capybara area. Did I miss something in all this? I presume I can fast-travel back at some point soon (I have reached the first base camp in the next bit where fast-travel is blocked) but must confess got irritated by not even being able to have a break after the battle with the Trinity blokes. Anyway, I'm sure it'll work out but if anyone has any helpful hint/comment . . . ttfn!
  15. These are underground. There are two ways in, IIRC one is a pool inside a hut, the other is a passage inside another hut, both are quite close to the locations marked. I'm stuck at a point where I can't do a fast travel to let you know exactly what to do.
  16. I got into that area quite early on in the Hidden City bit of the game and hunted those capybara before the local told me about them. My gaming approach tends to be to do absolutely everything possible before the main storyline tasks, bit like your description; I do not recall it being very hard to find the entrance to that area and am fairly sure I found it before I did any storyline objectives. I don't have the game in front of me at present but it's a fairly easy path from a point on the city side through a tunnel to the capybara side; head to the west of the city, maybe two-thirds of the way up on the map, somewhere there, there might be a small amount of climbing but I don't actually think so. Also, Stella has explained another aspect of this area so later in the game you arrive there naturally anyway, it seems.
  17. Okay . . . looking at your rough map, go to the "Wild Jungle" base camp, the one just west of the Hidden City proper. From there go south along the water to the pool, just on the left is a place she can climb out of the water, there's a tree to climb, then jump over to the rock face via a branch. Traverse the rock face to the right, jump up, traverse to the right, then climb to level ground. Head around the rock and there's a cliff edge to which she needs to jump, do that and climb to level ground again. At this point there's a branch to walk out onto but hold your horses at this point. The idea to go further up to the crypt is to veer to the left a little and jump to another rock face - but don't do that. Look down to the right and there's a diving platform. Walk out onto the branch but at the joint, face the diving platform and jump over. I've got Lara right at that point now so of course it isn't going to work but I managed it earlier, let's see . . . no I did it again. Hold the jump button and Lara grabs the diving platform. Head into this area. It's a region above part of the challenge tomb and corresponds to what is represented on the map. I did a couple of screen grabs but I'm not very sophisticated when it comes to posting them. If you go to xboxdvr and search for my gamertag, spirantcrayon22, you can look for my screen grabs. I did one showing the glowing bow and then one showing the location of Lara at that point. ttfn! An extra thought on this is that there are about ten quivers of arrows lying around the area which for some reason indicates to me it's a bit of a boss fight arena.
  18. No problem, happy to help. Actually happy to see someone else posting. Other than Stella. Not that there's a problem with Stella posting. I'll stop digging that hole and move on . . . . . . to another question for Stella. In the area in the west with the challenge tomb and crypt and albino capybara there's a not-very-obvious-how-to-get-to area. I did manage it. In the climb to get to the high-dive board on the way to the challenge tomb it's possible to jump to a lower high-dive board. Behind that there's a region which has a sort-of den in the middle and in that den, apart from glowing arrows, is a glowing bow (if Eagle Vision is on) - but I can't pick up the bow. Does this become explained at a later point? Cheers
  19. Stella, I found an explorer backpack that isn't on your Paititi rough map; it's more or less due north of the Wild Jungle base camp, right next to the bit of green that is separate from the rest of the forest, on the south-west side about half-way along.
  20. A fifth challenge is finding secrets in crypts, that can start before the serpent guard bit (which I haven't done as I type this). The only one I've completed here is the feathers one but am just about to finish the diving one - I DID press B on the controller the first time I tried!
  21. I finally had the fairly obvious idea of doing a screen-shot and looking at the pixels (screenshot then went to xboxdvr.com and downloaded the picture stored there, couldn't see how to access it from my profile on xbox.com). The resolution appears to be 1920x1080 as individual pixels are quite clearly separate and not groups of four. That means it's a deliberate soft focus I suppose but I'm not an expert on video resolution to comment further. Image created at normal resolution then up-sampled using averages of the adjoining pixels? Would that be faster than creating HD directxly? Oh, well . . .
  22. Thanks for that. I didn't look at the spoiler but went to the location on your map and boy did I kick myself when I got to the location on the map, I'd seen them but over-thought the requirements for a challenge! Turns out I had found the same two backpacks and maps you had found but hadn't remembered.
