Actually, the gunman completely ignores Lara while he is headless. She can walk right up to him and kick him and he'll do nothing. I just noticed that there's a competition running over at the Eidos forum in which you can win a copy of Tomb Raider: Anniversary and a little something extra signed by Toby Gard himself, in honour of Lara's birthday. All you have to do is create a piece of fan art or fan writing centering on Lara's birthday; either her birthday as a character, or the 10th anniversary of Tomb Raider as a series. Competition details and rules Closing date is 14 February.

I can't actually remember how I avoided them. I think I just ran and hoped I wouldn't get hit by a fireball. I seem to remember re-loading a lot...

The times I've done that level I've done it by not knocking the skeletons into the abyss, but by trying to avoid the skeletons and their fireballs and just running to the switches and pulling them, and then running under the water when Lara gets set alight. You do use up a lot of health that way though.

IE is an internet browser, not a service provider (a service provider is who you pay money to every month for your internet connection). And yeah, Linux is an operating system and a bit of a drastic solution for what sounds like a cookie-handling issue. A better solution would be to install Firefox

Raider Man, if you do mean the key to activate the game before you can install it, there is no way that we can give that to you (we don't wanna get sued). Have a look on your game box, it should be there. If it isn't there, look on the CD itself. One or two of my games have the code on the game disc instead of on the box.

On TombRaider.com, once you get into the Anniversary site itself, it says that the game will be available for PlayStation 2, PSP and PC. As far as I know it will not be available for PS3.

Okay... TR2 works fine for me in compatibility mode with no patches applied, but if I take compatibility mode off it gives me that same error. What you can do is to try un-installing the game, and then re-installing it and applying compatibility mode without using the patch and see if that works. Un-installing the game won't delete your saves, but you can copy them out to a different location just in case.

Okay, that is the XP issue then... What exactly did you do to the game before? Did you apply the patches, or put the game in compatibility mode, or both?

What is the exact error message that you get? It could be something like a scratch on your CD that's stopping the game from reading a file it needs to load the level, or it could be another XP compatibility issue. We need a bit more info to help you.

This one is of that weird texture bug that happens in Tomb Raider 3 sometimes if you cancel a cut-scene as soon as it starts, or if you press and hold F6 while a game is loading.

Stella's savegame downloads come with multiple save points all through the levels, and a text file that tells you where they're all from. I use her saves very often when I want to go to a specific point partway through a level but don't want to play through to it.

I don't have any saves on me, but you can try Stella's savegames. There's bound to be one there that you can use, otherwise I'll see what I do

Play.com lists it as being released on 29 June 2007, although that's not an official release date, of course.

I remember the water being very foggy. I couldn't play properly unless it was night time, because the sunlight coming in the windows meant I couldn't see what was happening on the screen.

I did a bit of searching on the internet about that UPV bug, and found out how to deliberately get it to happen. Drive the UPV to the surface of the water, and then drive it into the wall. Quickly release Alt (or whatever button you use on the PS) press end (dismount) and quickly press Alt again. Then Lara should be able to fly the UPV out of the water.
