  1. lol, great screenshots That rotating room gave me a terrible time when I played... I got all turned around and I remember trying for ages to get where I thought I was supposed to go, only to find out that it was the place I had just come from when I finally got there. I have no sense of direction and the whole room rotating definitely didn't help
  2. You're welcome. Have fun with your movie-making
  3. I did a bit of investigating, and what worked for me was to click on the Set Audio Levels button here: and move the slider all the way to the right. I could then import some music into the clip and not have the original audio get in the way.
  4. Very good screenies More please! (I see that my influence has corrupted you... Welcome to the Dark Side! )
  5. Done with The Cistern now My stats: This floating crocodile gag never gets old The Cistern is one of the levels that I'm very much looking forward to in Anniversary, although I'm not altogether sure why. It drove me nuts the first time I did TR1, and I'm fairly certain that that new version of it will drive me even more nuts.
  6. Well, I'm busy with TR1 at the moment, and at the speed I'm going at the moment Anniversary will be out round about the time I finish it I'll look forward to hearing updates on how you guys (and anyone else who joins in) gets on though.
  7. Yeah, definitely looking forward to meeting those gorillas too! I jumped out of my skin and swore very loudly earlier this evening when I was playing TR1 and a gorilla jumped out at me unexpectedly. I think I might wet myself if one of those gorillas jumps on me out of nowhere

Shame Blade, sounds like you're having a rough time. It's not easy being understaffed, I know I only worked for a few months in a fast food place, but that was enough for me. Good luck, I hope things work out brilliantly for you.
  9. Just finished Palace Midas. Yeah, I am slow; I keep getting distracted by episodes of Doctor Who and season 4 of The X-Files... Anyway, my stats: Remembered where all the secrets are I got set alight in the flame room when I did it, but I just picked up the iron bar while chomping medipacks to keep Lara alive, then dived her into the water to put out the flames. Lara is one tough chick!
  10. I wouldn't call it either of those. Eidos is perfectly entitled to push back the release date if they wish, and 25 May is only a week away from June (and 29 May is only 3 days away from June if you're American and getting the PS2 version). If that trailer does mean that it's delayed (and I'm not going to be convinced that it has been until the official site is updated), it's not a significant delay at all.
  11. Prince of Persia does still have the StarForce protection as far as I know, but their newer games don't. I found that it completely spoiled my experience of The Two Thrones. It turns out that I intensely dislike having random drivers installed on my computer so I rushed through the game as fast as I could so I could un-install the thing as soon as possible. Two Thrones is my least favourite Prince of Persia game because of it. I've checked my PC and I appear to have gotten all the StarForce stuff out. I hope so anyway...
  12. Yeah, it is very likely the American release date in that trailer. According to Gamestop.com the American release dates are 29 May for the PS2 version, 6 June for the PC version, and 26 June for the PSP version. But even if it was delayed everywhere it's not too big an issue since it'd only be by a week or two anyway.

Oh yeah, I see what you mean about the movements. Were you using a mouse as well? You need a mouse to be able to play on PC if you're not using a gamepad. I found the controls to be good because I'm used to using the mouse to change direction as opposed to using the direction keys all the time. I find now that when I play the older TR games I often automatically reach for the mouse and wasd keys when I load up and then get very confused for a few seconds while I work out where my fingers are supposed to go

What sort of hardware do you have? If your computer isn't really up to the challenge of running Legend then the graphics will not look terribly pretty, and Lara will be more difficult to control because of the game running slowly. I thought the game looked pretty good (although having next-gen graphics enabled did make it run a bit on my PC at times), and didn't have too many troubles with controlling Lara (aside from my own unco-ordinatedness, that is...) I suppose that going from a PS2 to a PC would make it a bit difficult to get the hang of the PC controls though.
  15. Well, this thread has a slightly different theme, and since the other thread hasn't been posted in for about six months now I think it should be okay to leave this one open. I agree about Aldwych being creepy. I jumped out of my skin the first time I played TR3 and the train would come out of nowhere and mow Lara down And the abandoned Underground station setting is just so eerie atmospheric. Those demon babies on Gallows Tree They still freak me out, and Lara doesn't even have any weapons to defend herself! Definitely the scariest part of Chronicles. I thought the Sanitarium and Maximum Containment Area levels of AoD were very creepy. I jumped out of my chair and cursed very loudly when one of those spiky mutants snuck up behind Kurtis while I was playing
  16. Legend is playable on Vista, although there have been some issues with drivers that have caused the game to crash (particularly for those with Nvidia graphics cards). Anniversary should be able to run under Vista too.
  17. Done with the Colosseum now. My stats: Got all the secrets and for once I didn't cheat and bypass the room with the pressure pads and timed doors. This guy is so annoying... I shot him in the back multiple times but he just won't die >.< I love the slightly surprised "Ow" that Lara makes when she gets run over by a boulder, like she just pricked her finger a bit or something...
  18. Oh, yeah, I absolutely hope those sequences will be interactive. The bit where Lara chases after Natla and her minions in particular, I thoroughly enjoyed the motorcycling sections in Legend
  19. 1) In your opinion, which of the following artefacts had the best storyline. Scion (TR I) 2) Who is your favorite TR villain ? Why? Natla. She just seems to me to have more personality than the other TR villains. 3) Save Crystals or Unlimited Saves? Unlimited saves. 4) When finding a TR secret, what is it that you like to find the most? Goodies (Medi-Packs, Ammo, Flares) 5) Name the top 3 boss (TR I - TR: Legend) battles that you remember having the most trouble with. I had lots of trouble with Doctor Willard the first time I fought him, but I find him very easy to beat now. I had massive trouble with Boaz, what with Kurtis being lame and slow and all. The dragon from the last level of TR2 also gave me a bit of stress... 6) What Tomb Raider movie did you enjoy watching the most? Why? I don't like either of those movies, but if I had to choose I'd go for the second one because I think that Gerard Butler is sexier than Daniel Craig... 7) PLS (Personal Light Source) or Flares Both. The flares have an advantage because you can throw then into holes and into dark corridors to see what's there. On the other hand you don't have to collect boxes of PLSs so you don't have to be paranoid about running out if you use it. 8) Did you like Lara’s new gadget the Magnetic Grapple in TR: Legend? If your answer is “No” let us know why you didn’t like it. I rather liked it. 9) If you found every secret in TR III your reward at the end was “All Hallows” Did you ever get to play it? If yes, was this bonus level a challenge for you? I did get to play it, but only after following a walkthrough to get every secret. I can't say that the level was any more of a challenge than the rest of TR3. 10) What were your thoughts when young Lara Croft was first introduced in TR: The Last Revelation (1999)? Was there anything in particular that you liked or didn’t like about young Lara? I thought she was a rather creepy... I didn't like her voice and her size seemed a bit out of proportion. Although it was interesting getting a bit of background story on Lara. 11) Did you like Lara’s hairstyle in TR I? I prefer it with the braid that they managed to add in TR2. 12) In TR II what did you like driving the most? Snowmobile in Tibet 13) In TR: Chronicles, Lara wore some new outfits, which outfit did you like the most? Arctic Camo (Russian sub base levels) 14) Did you ever play the TR Gold games? If yes, choose the one that you liked playing the most? Why? I've played all of them, and The Lost Artefact is my favourite, with The Golden Mask coming a close second. I liked TR3 so I was very happy to have some more levels to play. 15) My favorite level in TR I (1996) was Palace Midas because I like making Lara jump onto Midas's hand. 16) My favorite level in TR II (Starring Lara Croft-1997) was The Tibetan Foothills because I like the snowmobile. 17) My favorite level in TR III (Adventures of Lara Croft-1998) was RX-Tech Mines because of the mine carts. 18) My favorite level in TR: The Last Revelation (1999) was The Desert Railroad, just because I like trains... 19) My favorite level in TR: Chronicles (2000) was the Ireland bit because those levels were creepy and had great atmosphere (and those marshmallow baby things were scary...) 20) My favorite level in TR: The Angel Of Darkness (2003) was Hall of Seasons (with all the levels connected to it) because it felt the most like Tomb Raider. 21) My favorite level in TR: Legend (2006) was the England bits because I found them the most interesting.
  20. Rapierman, you are very welcome to join in! How it works is just that we are all playing TR1. You can go as fast or slowly as you like. You can also choose to share all your experiences and stats, or you can just give a summary every few levels or when you finish the game. It's up to you. Hope you do join in. The more the merrier!
  21. Just finished St Francis Folly My stats: Got all the secrets So high... must resist the urge to make Lara dive off... Too late! Yeah, I took all the screenies I posted @Stella: Yeah, that's a great FMV sequence there. It's another thing in the Anniversary Game that I'm going to look out for, so I hope they've done a new version of it
  22. Oh yeah, I third the City of the Dead thing. That level was the first one I had to use a walkthrough for in Last Revelation (well, besides having to find out how to rope-swing properly. I am a super-genius and didn't think of looking in the game manual to find out how to do that...). The most difficult game overall for me would definitely be Tomb Raider 3 though. It was the first TR game I ever played (as I think I've mentioned a few times...) and I sucked at it somewhat. I got through India without help from walkthroughs, but after that I was pretty much running to Stella's every five minutes
  23. Someone posted this picture a few days ago, in this thread. The release date for TR:A seems to be 25 May for the UK and 29 May or 6 April for the US. There's a thread here about that too.
  24. Hello Laraider, welcome to LCO!
