  1. Kedi (2016) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4420704/ Original Trailer: U.S. Trailer Winner of the Critics Choice Documentary Award's 2017 Best First Documentary award, Best Documentary Director award and most Compelling Living Subject of a Documentary award. An intriguing look at the stray cats living in the city of Instanbul and how their lives are often intertwined with the lives of their human neighbors. Many of the cats living there are independent creatures but there are quite a few who are attention seekers, free loaders, trouble makers and just plain always imposing themselves on the humans around them. This is a close up look on 7 of these cats. Heart warming, moving, touching, beautiful. Even if you are not a cat person and/or you are a dog person, you will still love this film. 5/5
  2. Wind River (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5362988/ Every year there is one movie that strikes a critical, artistic and visceral chord with me that I think deserves Oscar nominations in January-February and every year that one movie is passed by the Academy for a more commercially successful movie. This is the movie I hope the Academy will not pass by come January 23, 2018 but knowing those sell out idiots there, they will. 4.75/5
  3. Titanic is back in the theaters for its 20th year anniversary. Can you believe that? 20 years already!! http://variety.com/2017/film/news/titanic-20th-anniversary-re-release-1202616007/ I'm watching the BluRay. Strange that Kate Winslet's career didn't take off after Titanic. You would think she would become a A-list actress commanding millions per movie like Julia Roberts

  5. WOW! How long has it been? 13 years? Surprised they didn't get a sequel out sooner!
  6. The Babysitter (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4225622/ What a bloody thrill ride!! Move over Macaulay, this is what Home Alone should had been really like! 4/5

  8. Happy Death Day (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5308322/ Take Phil, the self centered, obnoxious, rude weatherman from Groundshog Day who is a major jerk and change his character into a girl and you have Tree (Teresa): the self centered, obnoxious rude college co-ed sorority girl in Happy Death Day, who is a major witch. Just like Phil, Tree will re-live her day over and over and each time she will have to make some changes in her behavior so the next day will be slightly different from the previous day until she is able to break the deja vu cycle. The only difference between Phil's day and Tree's day is Tree is getting murdered each time; so not only does she wants to break the cycle, she needs to find out who is the killer that is killing her over and over. There are a couple of surprises here and the premise is very workable but the writers and director just couldn't bring it all together to make it work as a solid horror film which at times it's almost mocking itself. The PG-13 rating also impedes this movie to become truly scary and suspenseful because there is only so much you can do and get away with without it bordering on and/or earning an R-rating. 2.75/5
  9. The Lighthorsemen (1987) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093416/ True story about the Australian Light Horse infantry during World War 1 in this battle, which was part of the the Sinai and Palestine campaign: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Beersheba_(1917) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinai_and_Palestine_Campaign A nearly 4 years long (3 years and 9 months) Campaign just to take the Suez Canal and/or control the areas near it/around it. Then 22 some years later they did it all over again during World War 2. Thank God for Subtitles because they spoke true Australian dialect in this movie mixed with English and half of the time I couldn't understand what they were saying. 4/5
  10. Well, back to falling back one hour which means one extra hour to stay up late and doing nothing on the internet while everyone else is sleeping including both kittens.
  11. I couldn't stand the actor who played Valerian. I don't know who he is, never heard of him, and he couldn't act and he reminded me of a very arrogant Leonardo DiCaprio, whom I also can't stand!
  12. Valerian And The City Of a Thousand Planets (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2239822/ When I first saw the trailer for this film about 5 1/2 months ago, I thought that this was director Luc Besson's comeback movie. After his early successes with La Femme Nikita, The Fifth Element and The Professional, Besson got stuck in the rut that many great foreign writer-directors get stuck in after they go to Hollywood: cinematic formulaitic bad movies devoid of the wirter-director's original vision which put them on the critically acclaimed map. Movie flops like The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc and Lucy and Taxi and Bandidas and Colombiana. I guess I was mistaken. This movie is visually beautiful but that's about it. The storyline is confusing and muddled and some of the dialogue are asinine. After 2 hours and 17 min, you will come away wanting more and feeling empty. It's like a fancy French restaurant meal: pretty to look at but not enough substance and portion to fill up your tummy, quench your hunger and satisfy your mind. 2/5
  13. Father probably thought nothing of it since he is used to seeing his teenage daughter constantly having her phone out and in her hands everywhere she went.
  14. Did the father knew she was filming? sorry for the late reply, we have been moving the last 7 days and we had no home internet and TV service at our new home from Saturday to this morning.
  15. Stephen King's It (1990) 2-parts TV miniseries Part 1 - the childhood years Part 2 - the adulthood years http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099864/ 4.75/5 Stephen King's It (2017) aka Stephen King's It Chapter One http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1396484/ 4/5 They are both good except the TV miniseries was better. Why? More characters development and study, the It was only shown in glimpses adding more tension to the horror, more heart and soul and emotional story; while the theatrical remake is more visual, has less characters development and study, and shows too much of the creature; and of course, lots of gore, blood, gross parts and horror CGI - all of which could had been toned down a bit: it's a movie based on a Stephen King's novel, not an Eli Roth horror gore fest. Plus it doesn't end, you will have to wait until 2019 for the adult chapter of the story so they can double dip your wallet!!
  16. So I ended up calling a different cleaning service and 2 ladies came out yesterday and in 4 hours they cleaned the entire house, everything in every room and bathrooms and closets including ceiling fan blades, both sides of every panel of every mini blind, window sills, and dust and dirt that accumulated on any edges protruding out from the wall of moldings and baseboards. It was so clean I wanted to move back!!Oh I didn’t have to tell them what to do. I open the door, let them in, told them to call me 15 min before they are done and I’ll return to check and then pay them. They weren’t even Hispanic so it didn’t matter if I spoke Spanish or not. They were African and they understood my English. When I did the check of the entire house before paying them, I didn’t find anything that they could had missed. They even wash all the windows inside and out and the bathtubs and shower stalls looked brand new.Amazing what those 2 women accomplished in only 4 hours.
  17. Engineer took his daughter to work at Apple and allowed her to film this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBeD8E2xxck The above video, posted a few days prior to the iPhoneX pre-order date, include footage of an unreleased iPhone X with special employee-only QR codes. A notes app was also shown on the iPhone X in the video, which appeared to include codenames of unreleased Apple products. Filming on Apple’s campus is strictly prohibited, so filming an unreleased iPhone X is a definite rule violation. Now the daughter posts an apology video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQzGKwjr_js which I am not buying it because she starts the video IMMEDIATELY by talking about how AWESOME and how many LIKES she got from the VLOG she posted that got her Dad fired. She doesn't seem remorseful that her Dad lost his job. Maybe when he can no longer afford to pay for the family cellular service including her phone which will be useless with no signal, that's when she will finally realize what she has done.
