Yeah, I don't want her to change either. Little things fine, but not another drastic change. From Chronicles to AoD to Legend she's changed a lot these past few years & I think her look should stay the same now to get a bit of consistency.

lol, I know that you can't cut off of a CD It doesn't work though because the files can't be read at all If I open the CD and turn thumbnails on, Windows Explorer hangs. When I tried to copy it aborted and gave me an error message. My sis is going to take the CD into her work and give it to a friend of hers who works in the IT department. Perhaps he'll be able to do something with the data-recovery stuff they have (might work better than the cheap freeware/demo programmes I had).

Me too. I absolutely hate boss fights. It's like the game manufacturers throw them in just for an easy way to increase the play time. And then it's just a matter of button-mashing and frustration. Boss fights suck!

Yeah, my sis & her BF are extremely annoyed that they didn't get the photo place to check the disc. They only had to get the photos written there because one of their memory cards went missing just after they arrived in Spain and they only found out after the first card was full (and they had a helicopter ride booked in a few hours, and they couldn't find anywhere that sold the memory cards they needed). Otherwise they would've just brought them to my place when they got back and I'd've written the pictures for them (and made sure they were working).

Oh, okay We've tried the CD in a few drives now (two PCs, one Apple Mac, an X-Box 360, and a DVD-player), and all the drives stop reading it at the same point. The data recovery programmes were a last resort. So I guess they're gone then. Thanks for your reply though

My sister went on holiday to Spain recently, and while she was there she had a bunch of photos (200+) written to CD. Unfortunately it seems that the CD is corrupt and all the photos are unreadable except for the first 7 or so on the disc. It appears to be a cyclic redundundancy check error (not that I know that much what that means, but there you go). I've tried a few programmes (ISOBuster, CD Check, Unstoppable Copier, one or two others) but none of them has worked. Anyone have any other programmes or suggestions for a good way to get the pictures off the CD, or are they gone forever? Any help would be appreciated

Make sure that the arrows don't look like they're pointing one way when they're actually pointing a slightly different way. I had that problem a couple of times. I just went into the game and had a look, and the directions were left, up, down and it worked fine. I was using the keyboard, so perhaps you could switch to the keyboard just for that bit and see if it helps?

Noooo I am not photogenic That was the only decent one of the lot... I had to have my picture taken for my new pass when I went onto a six-month contract at work recently, and I look like some sort of convict having my mugshot taken in it, and my passport photo makes me look like I'm on drugs...

I know this isn't necessarily reliable information, but I really hope that Eidos aren't going to rush out an inferior game to make a quick buck. I don't mind if they release it long after Tomb Raider's anniversary date, as long as it's complete and a quality game. I certainly don't want another Angel of Darkness fiasco just after it looks like the TR franchise is back on track.

It wasn't cancelled by Core, it was cancelled by Eidos. Eidos have now sold off the assets of Core Design, but they are keeping the rights to the name of Core. So the old company of Core Design is now part of Rebellion (and is being renamed Rebellion Derby or something like that).

From some very quick research, it appears that happens if Content Advisor is enabled. Take a look here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q176316/ EDIT: Otherwise, you could try clearing out your temporary internet files. That sometimes fixes dodgy behaviour.
