The no FMVs or music and the games working without the CD makes it sound like a pirated copy of the game though. I've come people with the same problem a couple of times, and they didn't know that their games weren't the original CDs. Game pirates can make it so that the games look completely legitimate until you take them home and you find that they don't work properly.

Nope, it's Lara everywhere Yeah, the story I heard is that Core changed it to Lara because Americans couldn't pronounce Laura. For me there is a distinct difference between when I say "Lara" and when I say "Laura", but it depends on one's accent.

Raider Man, are you sure that's a legitimate copy of the collection you bought? There's no way a genuine copy of the game would have a virus, and I've heard of game pirates removing FMV sequences to save disc space. Were the games all packed onto only one CD?

Well I rather like spiders (provided they don't try to crawl on me... eek!), so I'd totally play the spider bits for the arachnophobes on the board As long as something jumps out of the shadows and causes me to scream like a little girl and start randomly mashing buttons in a total panic I'll be happy

The theory is that Natla is the god that Lara's going to need to kill. Since she's immortal and has apparently survived falling into into lava/being crushed by stone in Anniversary, Lara's going to need something pretty powerful to get rid of her.

I just read about that on the BBC and was coming over to whine about it... The film's finished and all, they just pushed it back because they think it'll make more money being released next year. I'm completely unimpressed

Awesome, some Thailand info soon Good on Mr Lindstrom for not giving out details of the gameplay. Better to give no info and leave it flexible than end up with an AoD situation where you have a whole bunch of fancy ideas that don't work. Besides, I'm one of the ones who doesn't want to know every single detail of the game before I play. Although I enjoy the concept art, trailers and screenshots, I'd like most of it to be a surprise.

You can't change Lara's outfit the first time you play through a level, but once you're able to replay levels you'll have the option to choose a new outfit for Lara.

My understanding was always that the PS2 and PS3 versions were going to be the same, with the PS3 version having better graphics. That has happened to me though, and will happen in the future. When AoD came out my computer was below the minimum hardware requirements and there was absolutely no way I could afford a new one, so I ended up with a game that would barely run and that kept crashing and locking up. It would have been nice for me if Eidos and Core had made a game that was designed to run on weaker computers like the previous games were, but I realised that wasn't possible. By the time Legend came out I had a better computer, but it still doesn't run properly with next-gen turned on, it's going to struggle a lot with Underworld, and there's no way it'll run whatever game comes after Underworld. I might be able to upgrade before Underworld is released, but probably not. I've accepted that the game will run slowly and not look the best and I'll just have to deal with it, but I would never demand that Eidos and Crystal Dynamics not release the game to take advantage of the newest hardware that other people have but I don't. I'm just going to have to start saving up for new hardware for my PC.

I'd just like to make another point here. Raider Man, if you're engaged in a debate with people, do not ever just dismiss their arguments like this. It's extremely rude. We are not disagreeing with you because we love Eidos so very much, we are disagreeing with you because we think your arguments don't make sense. If you have valid points to make, post them, but "you always defend your favourite company" is not a valid point. If you can't handle the fact that other people have different opinions to you, don't start the discussion in the first place.

Hello Swandivechic, welcome to LCO! You only need three gold bars as there are only three empty slots they can go into. How many bars do you have and where did you try putting them? There's one slot to the left of the statue's legs, and two on either side of the word "Midas" on the base. The fourth slot to the right of the statue's legs already has a gold bar in it when you start the level (it's there as a clue for people who have never played TR1) When you put the gold bars into the slots, you should see a short video of the bars retracting from the underwater gate and the gate opening. What happened when you tried to put the bars into the slots? I take it you have turned them to gold and they're not still lead?

I read about this today, and I wondered if that would turn into a new Catwoman movie, or if she'd be in the next Batman film, if it's true. I've heard talk of Catwoman possibly being in the next Batman (spoilers for The Dark Knight) .

It's not Eidos's problem that you don't have a PS3, Raider Man. They can't release a PS3 quality game on the PS2 because it's impossible, and they are under no obligation at all to wait for you to buy a PS3 before they start developing games for it. Shame on you for demanding that everyone else settle for a lower quality game just because you have to. Besides, I don't think the PS2 version is going to be nearly as bad as you seem to think it is. I reckon it'll even be pretty good, even with the less pretty graphics and a few features missing. By the way, where did you hear that FMVs were are going to be left out of the PS2 version of the game? I've heard that a few features will be left out, but I haven't heard that any of the cinematics will be cut.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing this because I used to be a big X-Files fanatic in high school. I'm glad it's more like a stand-alone episode rather than about the alien conspiracy stuff because I preferred the episodes that weren't part of the continuing story much more. Yeah, Heath Ledger was brilliant. I'm not surprised that people are talking about a possible Oscar nomination; he totally freaked me out. Thanks for the Harry Potter trailer j7! Can't wait for that movie I'm busy reading through the series again

Why should Eidos not release a PS3 version just because you can't afford it though? They can't release the PS3 version on PS2 because it's impossible, and Eidos will never refuse to release on PS3 because they'll lose a tonne of money if they do. You get what you pay for, so if you pay a load of money for a PS3 or a very powerful computer, you'll get a much prettier game than people with a PS2 or a less powerful computer. That's just life

It's not the fault of Eidos or Crystal Dynamics that your PS2 is outdated, Raider Man, and Eric Lindstrom isn't going to be doing anything about it. Consoles get updated every few years, that's just the way the gaming world works. Yeah the graphics on PS2 aren't going to be as good as on PS3, but since Eidos originally weren't even going to make a PS2 version they're doing you a favour by releasing a PS2 version. The only way to have the same experience in both is for them to purposefully make the PS3 graphics rubbish. They're obviously not going to do that because it makes no business sense and will understandably upset all the people who've paid lots of money for a PS3. I can understand your frustration at not being able to afford a PS3 and having to settle for second-best, but there's not much that Eidos can do about it.
