  1. I have! Got mine yesterday morning
  2. AARRRGGGHHHHH I can't assign any of the controls to the mouse buttons! Bad Crystal Dynamics, bad! No biscuit for you! Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. I'll have to fiddle around with the registry tomorrow when I get home...
  3. There's been no word on a new TR movie yet. Angelina Jolie seems pretty busy with her family and other projects, and there hasn't been any news from Paramount about it either.
  4. I've just bought my copy Now it's sitting in my pedestal under my desk, since I don't think my manager will be impressed if I install it on my work computer and start playing Won't be able to actually play it very much till tomorrow or Sunday since I'm going to be at my sister's place for much of the weekend.
  5. Eidos is still giving the release date of the PS2 version as November 2008 on both their UK and their US sites, so I'm getting the feeling they don't really know what's plotting EDIT: According to Tesco, it's out on 1 January 2020. Rather a long wait then If the PS2 version is having problems, they don't have an option but to delay it, as annoying as it is for PS2 owners. I do agree with Ms.Croft though, SCi or Eidos should have made an official announcement about this much earlier than they have.
  6. You'll need to put the text you want to hide in spoiler tags. Have a look for a link that says "insert: SPOILER" when you go to the full reply window. It looks something like this, but it'll change depending on what forum skin you're using: When you click on "insert: SPOILER" it'll give you a box to type your text into, and once you click "OK" it'll insert the text into your post wrapped in spoiler tags.
  7. As far as I know it's going to be mostly the same as the PC, PS3 and XBox 360 versions of the game, with some differences where the PS2 hardware can't handle certain features (such as graphics). There's not a lot of information on the PS2 version of the game at the moment though.

The official word from Eidos seems to be that all versions will be released on the same day, but US retailers like Gamestop, Bestbuy and Amazon.com say it'll be released in either December or January. In the UK all versions are scheduled to release on the same day, including the PS2 one. So it might be released on the same day or it might not. The usual story with Eidos
  9. You're welcome Good luck with it
  10. I haven't played the Wii version, but in the other versions when you do a grapple swing you have to jump out over the gap and then throw the grapple while Lara is in the air. So run forward, jump and then flick the nunchuk.
  11. Check it out, Tombraider.com has been updated with a Tomb Raider: Underworld game which you can play to unlock content. "Playing" consists of pressing the arrow keys and spacebar at the right time to get points which unlock content depending on how many you manage to get. I am bad at pressing keys at the right time so I didn't get much http://eu.tombraiderunderworld.com/?aff=portalUK
  12. I re-mapped them to *my* Legend controls. The default controls are rubbish I re-map pretty much everything except the direction keys and shoot, so not being able to do so in the demo caused me big problems...
  13. Thanks to a very intelligent person in this thread at the Eidos boards I've gotten the Underworld controls re-mapped to match my Legend and Anniversary ones (although switch weapon, which I always have mapped to middle mouse button, didn't carry over for some reason). I wish I could've done this from the beginning, because it's so much easier to play now. Not being able to map jump to the right mouse button completely messed up all the other controls for me and made my life very difficult
  14. I don't think it's natural for someone's arm to bend this way
  15. Thanks, I'll try that out when I get home tomorrow I'm really terrible at getting Lara to do special moves and sometimes she just totally ignores me when I tell her to do something Plus I went and switched all the buttons around, but when you do that you end up with two actions mapped to the same button, which leads to great confusion when trying to work out how to do stuff like that I've figured out how to get her to do handstand/flip thing when she's grabbing a pole on the ground, and I've gotten her to swan-dive, which is a start.
  16. Yeah, I'm sure it will be. The control re-assigning in the demo seems to be very buggy in general so I'm sure it's one thing they're aware of and will fix. I thought about going and whining on the Eidos board about it, but some people have already done that for me lol, I'll see if I can get some good videos With the amount of people who meet the minimum requirements and are having this problem, this is hopefully just a bug with the demo.
  17. One thing I do like from what I've seen in the demo is the new swimming controls. I much prefer using the mouse to move Lara around underwater, and I had a fair amount of difficulty in Legend and Anniversary getting used to the swimming controls because I was constantly trying to use the mouse to get her to swim up and down. Now for some more screenshots, just because I love taking screenshots This game is really beautiful, I just want to stop and stare at the scenery all the time... Handstand! I did this by mistake and then had to go up and down the ledge until I managed to do it again. I can't remember exactly how I got it to work, but I think it may have involved shift and spacebar. EEK, SPIDER!!! Squish! You can see in this screenshot Lara's health is really low. She got killed by bats shortly thereafter. Dive!
  18. Actually I've only had the demo for about an hour and a half due to excessively long downloading times
  19. I'm rather pleased because it ran quite nicely on my PC. I may have to turn the graphics down a bit during intense bits of the game, but otherwise it ran better than I expected. I completely agree, the camera drove me absolutely mad at some points. What also drove me a bit nuts was that I couldn't re-assign any controls to the mouse buttons, so I couldn't customise the controls to be like the ones I used in Legend and Anniversary. I find the default controls to be quite awkward to work with so I like to customise as soon as I start playing. I'm hoping this'll be fixed with the final release though. I must say, stomping on spiders and kicking bats out of the air is loads of fun Also, one should not attach a sticky grenade to a tiger which is attacking one The game looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to take some time out tomorrow to explore and get used to how Lara moves now and see if I can find any of the hidden treasures. For me, the more health packs the better because I'm lousy at combat and tend to panic and start button-mashing when things jump out at me Oh look, somewhere high up... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Splat! I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself... I'm a horrible horrible person...
  20. Tombraider.com now has a link to download the demo http://www.tombraider.com/server.php?show=ConWebDoc.228 But when I clicked on it, it asked me for a username and password and then denied me access. LOL EDIT: The American download site works: http://demo.tombraiderunderworld.com/pcdemo_us.html
  21. 5pm is good, since I'm going to be at work all day anyway, and we've been given permission to leave early because of the anti-capitalism demonstration / Halloween party that's going to be happening outside our building so I can even be home by 5 o'clock today
  22. It's confirmed on the Tomb Raider website that the PC demo will be out on the 31st. http://www.tombraider.com/server.php?show=ConWebDoc.219
  23. Official source: http://www.tombraider.com/server.php?show=ConBlogEntry.25 It only says that the XBox 360 demo will be out on the 28th though. Is it actually 100% officially confirmed that there is going to be a PC demo as well?
  24. It's appearing next week http://www.laracroftonline.net/index.php?showtopic=4210 Although the exact date isn't for certain yet.
  25. I have an AMD processor, just not one that's quite fast enough for games these days. Problem is, if I want to do a decent processor upgrade I have to then replace the motherboard and RAM at the same time too. I'll only look at doing an extensive upgrade next year sometime.
