It would be difficult for them to ruin Star Wars any worse than George Lucas has already done... I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the Star Wars franchise. Yeah, I reckon that it's possible that Han Solo, Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia will feature in some of the new movies, but they'll probably just have small parts and the movies will focus on their children becoming Jedi Knights.

So the PC version is going to be download-only? That seems like an odd thing to do for a major release, but I guess PC retail copies aren't selling as well as they used to. Although I prefer to buy retail copies of the games I really love, most of my game library is digital now, and as long as they release it on Steam I'll be happy.

GOG now also has Tomb Raiders 4 and 5 for $9.99 for the both of them in a pack. I've just downloaded and tested them, and they both loaded up and ran perfectly on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. I've just realised that the PC version will probably be using Games for Windows Live, so I guess I'll wait until it goes on special for £5, because I loathe and despise GFWL and refuse to pay full price for that rubbish.

Yeah, the game has an 18 age restriction in Europe, which is the equivalent of an ESRB M-rating, so it's pretty much expected that the game will have an M-rating in North America. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't get it too. The game looks awesome though! The only thing I didn't like in the trailer is the voice actress; she makes me want to throw Lara off a cliff even more than I usually do. I wonder if that's the actress they'll be using in the final game.

I've tested all three of them, and all three ran on my Windows 7 64-bit machine with no problems (for the few minutes I spent messing around in them anyway). The only problem I've had is that changing any of the graphics settings in TR3 causes the game to crash when I open Lara's passport. Not too serious as I'm happy with the default resolution of 1152x864, though I would like to be able to turn the gamma setting up a bit. I hope they release TR4 and Chronicles like this as well, because I'd like to have DRM-free online backups of those games too.

Disappointing, but it's not really surprising when a video game's release date gets delayed. Looking forward to seeing some new content from E3 though

Well, I'm near the end of the game now. Just finished the first bit of the Arctic Sea. Dropping the drawbridge. It's a wonder that these old mechanisms still work after being submerged for so long, although they are powered by magic so I guess that explains it. Oh, it's her again. I was annoyed when it happened, but it made an amusing video and the save point was right there, so it turned out all right I got through the exit OK on the second attempt. Does this place even have a bottom? It must do, or what are all these pillars sitting on. And where's that glow coming from? Shouldn't it be dark down there? Actually, it's probably better not to think about it. These ancient sites are all full of disgusting man-eating spiders. It's a wonder there are any archaeologists left in the world. You'd have thought they'd have all been devoured by now. Swinging over a deadly pit on a giant hammer while being attacked by bats. There's no way this could possibly go wrong. What a nasty-looking creature. I sure am glad it's dead. Eh? Oh, crap. Greatest weapon on earth? I like the sound of that! Gimme! Mine mine mine mine mine mine mine! No, I think it'll just kill me, so I'd better just stick to the magic gloves with the rubish batteries. Why didn't you bring any of these guys home, father? They have hands. They could have opened the doors and murdered us in our sleep. Now we're getting somewhere. Let's see what's inside this lovely statue. What's this then? A magic belt buckle to go with my magic gloves! Excellent! Super awesome. I wonder what my super hero name should be. I'm going to need a costume... Aw yeah, pushing a giant stone pillar with my magic set items. DO YOU WANT NINJA? TAKE THAT! Oh boy, swinging out of this area proved to be super frustrating. It took me absolutely ages to pull off. Once I finally managed to make this jump, it occurred to me that I should check Stella's to see if I was doing it right, as it seemed to be unusually difficult. It turns out that I was doing it wrong and there was a much easier way to do it. Oh well. Let's get as far away from that stupid sludge pit as possible! Oh, giant spiders, just what I always wanted. Pull the lever to open the door and end the level! Oh, look what's happened. This motorcycle really hates me. Out of there, finally! I'm ready for a change in scenery. Oooh, mysterious goings-on. Next up: Jan Mayan Island!

I feel your pain. I've learned from bitter experience that when I'm typing a long post on a message board, I should copy it out frequently in case my internet connection drops when I'm trying to post, or the board randomly decides to eat it or something. I've just finished the next bit of Mexico, so here another update: The first time I played Underworld I encountered a bug in which this ramp here was lowered, stopping me in my tracks. Luckily I had a save from the beginning of the level, and re-doing the level fixed the bug. No problems this time as the TR:U patch fixes this particular bug. AAAAAGGGGHHHHH! GIANT SPIDER!!! KILL IT KILL IT!!! Oh, it turns out that these spiders aren't so dangerous after all. In fact, they're quite cute. Look at them trying to wake up their little friend. I will take them home and they will be my pets and I'll feed them and I'll walk them and I'll change their little hutches, and if I decide I don't like them, I'll kill them. Oh good, so this bit isn't going to be at all dangerous then. AAAHHHH GIANT SPIDERS GIANT SPIDERS!!! These guys are a bit more agresssive then their friends up the corridor. Upside-down action shot! See me firing my guns and doing a somersault at the same time! I'm doing a handstand on this ledge just to show how not afraid of heights I am. These guys use skeletons in all of their decorating. They should think about maybe using some flowers or sparkly stones or something. You know, brighten the place up a bit. Just because it's a hellish death trap doesn't mean it can't look nice. Crushy rock trap, run run!!! Whew, made it past that! Well, I'll just shove this thing into my backpack. Ha ha ha, eat motorcycle, stupid spider! Death by quicktime event :-( Hooray, firey timed jumping puzzle bit... Yeah, I'm not so good at these. Well, that's the last piece of this puzzle, time to open the exit. Stick this here... ... and open the exit! Let's go and see what exciting and wonderful things await us down this staircase! And at this point Lara's motorcycle got stuck on some rocks, and I could neither move it nor dismount. We'll just exit the game and take a little break here then.

I agree; the ship bit is definitely my favourite part of the Mediterranean level. LOL! I never noticed that before, but now that you mention it, yeah it does LOL, I just had to post a picture of it, she just looks so annoyed. I didn't have a problem with this game, but FPS games usually give me monster motion sickness. I think Portal 2 might have cured that though, since I managed to play all the way through that game, and I managed to play through the whole Half-Life series afterwards using the same method I used to reduce my motion sickness during Portal. I've finished the first section of the Mexico level, so here's my latest update Here I come to destroy the cultural heritage of Mexico! Oh, look what I found: a massive great cat head! I know where to put this! Man, this Backpack of Holding is the best thing I ever bought. And I'm being attacked by the wildlife again. I swear Zip soaks my clothes in meat or something. Well, let's go and see what else we can find here. Oh, I've found a corpse. How very ominous. Now what on earth is the point of these spike pits? I think someone built them just to annoy me personally. Are you getting in between me and treasure? Now you must die! Ha ha ha, have I mentioned how much I love sticky grenades? AAAHHHH I KILL YOU ALL!!! ... oh, sorry, I though I heard a bat... My bad... Ah-ha! The second piece of the puzzle! I'll just stuff this in my backpack and we can get going. A stunning display of athleticism! Stick this on here, and we can get going to the next area. Trying not very sucessfully to remember how to do this puzzle... Got it! Now for a stupid timed run. Grumble grumble... And through the doors before they close! I don't know why I dislike timed runs so much, I'm not too bad at them. I think it's just having to repeat the run a few times before I learn how to do it. AAAHHH, SPIKE PIT SPIKE PIT!!!! The land of the dead. Well that sounds cheery. Next up: Midgard Serpent!
