Laraman
To be released in November of this year, Bright Things in cooperation with Eidos will release an interactive DVD game titled: "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Action Adventure". Searching for who killed her friend, the game will involve more than four hours of choices, thinking and multiple endings. From their licencing agrrement reports: "Further to our preliminary announcement in June, the development of our first standalone Interactive DVD Game 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Action Adventure' is progressing well and in accordance with expectations. Bright Things has secured distribution for the product into various territories worldwide for release into the key Christmas selling period." (http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?...09081315017000I) From the London Stock Exchange pages: "Opportunity to develop and market family games for DVD players, with no additional hardware requirements - Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness Interactive DVD progressing well". Shrensh
That Bright Things company is connected to Eidos... http://www.brightthings.com/ but I'm not so sure about what sort of Tomb Raider game we could be getting from a company that makes Teletubby and Noddy games... EDIT: The non-executive Chairman of Bright things, Ian Livingstone, is also the non-executive Chairman of CiRCLE, which was founded by ex-core employees. Interesting... sources: http://www.brightthings.com/about.html http://www.circle-plc.com/about_management.asp

Shrensh
Hey one thing I noticed.... look at the graphic in the lower left hand corner of the above the picture, see the hand holding the dvd remote? Now look at this link from Circle Studios. http://www.circle-plc.com/about_management.asp Notice the graphic in the upper right hand corner? LOL! Oh yeah, look at that... It could be because CiRCLE licences the technology from Bright Things for their games, or something like that. But it would be very interesting if people from CiRCLE were involved in this. EDIT: Ooooo, I just noticed that she's holding Kurtis's spiky Frisbee-thing in that picture! Of course it's probably just a mock-up and not the actual cover... Trinity34
I just read the full Bright Things financial report on the londonstockexchange website and they actually made a statement in there that BT contracts out all the game development to a third party company. *cough*Circle Studios*cough* That who is probably working on the AOD interactive game. Here is a larger picture and info from the company distributing the game, Goldhil Entertainment.... Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Action Adventure DVD Game Item Code: GH2033 UPC: 7 43452 20332 1 ISBN: 1594437068 Run Time: 240 Minutes Rating: NR Media Type: DVD-9 Producer: Copyright: 2006 Order Date: 2006-11-01 Street Date: 2006-11-21 Genres: Animation, Special Interest Description: Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Action Adventure DVD Game is the new, “for everyone†interactive DVD game that has all of the fun of the video game, but is affordable and doesn’t require an expensive game system! Just use your remote control to capture all of the excitement and mystery of the Lara Croft Tomb Raider saga. Manipulate Lara Croft as she creeps through the dark streets of Paris through dim passages and tight corners... scaling buildings and talking to mysterious strangers... all in her quest to find the clues that will solve the mystery of why her associate and dear friend was killed -- and who did it. Brought to you by the studio who created the popular video games, this DVD game plays as well as any video game in the market, with seamless user interface (fast transitions once the next action is decided) and superior 3D animation. Play solo or as a team, this DVD game features over 4 hours of choices to be made and multiple endings. Individual games can be "saved for later" play. Includes tutorial: "How to Play". http://www.goldhilentertainment.com/index....;productid=2369 Look at Lara's face... is that a new Lara? EDIT: I wonder whose name will be on the DVD... larsonsmother
Strange huh? Interactive DVD games are usually pants - but as it's Lara, i might have to have a look at this one
Shrensh
lol, yeah, it's very strange. I don't have my hopes particularly high since it is coming from a company that makes kiddies' games, but since it's Tomb Raider I suppose I'll have to get it even if it is rubbish
Purple
I will think about it I guess lol
Gabbi
So is it the same syory and all as AOD?
Laraman
As far as we know, yes it is. However because it has multiple endings it's possible it has newer areas, possible closure to the missing period between TR4 and AOD and a possible closure to the whole AOD arc (altho' unlikely since it's roughly 4 hours unless they bring out another interactive DVD). For an update the Interactive DVD (henceforth will be named iDVD) the release date is to be the 21st of November.
Trinity34
It will be cool to see what the multiple endings are. I wonder what they could be?
Morph
Why are her shorts brown in that picture? They weren't brown in AOD, lol. And I wonder if a region 2 DVD will run in my DVD player. Thanks for the info!
Shrensh
Australia is region 4, so a region 2 DVD won't work there unless your DVD player is multi-regional. 0 No Region Coding 1 United States of America, Canada 2 Europe, including France, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Arabia, Japan and South Africa 3 Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo and Indonesia 4 Australia and New Zealand, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America 5 India, Africa, Russia and former USSR countries 6 Peoples Republic of China 7 Unused 8 Airlines/Cruise Ships A more detailed list from Amazon.com I'm sure they'll be releasing it for other regions though. Raekwon
If it fills in the story blanks i'd be interested but otherwise.. to quote larsonsmother... DVD games are pants!
Itachi
Sound strange to me. Might be a good idea, but why not just complete and ship of the real AoD with a note inside saying: "We were greedy and took your money. Please return your "crud" version of the story and we'll repay you in thanks for buying the correct version." ...or something like that. Gabbi
that would be nice... I wonder how much they will ask for it...
