What do you mean by "deeper story line"? Since TR:A is a TR1 re-make, they only had the TR1 story to use. They did try to make it a bit deeper by adding in all Lara's daddy issues, but really, Tomb Raider's never ever been about wonderful plots. What do you suggest CD do with it?

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh, the stupid Central line went down again today. A train derailed because some chop didn't secure something that was being stored in a tunnel cross-passage, so now it's suspended from where I live into Liverpool Street Station and I had to catch the stupid bus home. I hate catching the bus when the trains aren't working! No one was seriously hurt, luckily (linky-linky), but it'll probably still be down tomorrow and I'll have to leave for work really early and fight crazy people to get a space on a stupid bus (please please let the trains be running at least to Stratford tomorrow morning...)

That's the first I've ever heard of that... I wouldn't believe anything that RealNetworks says though

I tried RealPlayer a few years ago, and it'll take me a very long time to ever try it again. Even if they say they're not using spyware or adware anymore, I don't trust them at all and would rather not take the risk. I don't need it though. I'm using Real Alternative, which allows you to play RealMedia without having RealPlayer. It has the added advantage that it allows RealMedia files to be played with Media Player Classic, which is the programme I prefer to use for videos I download off the web. For downloading off YouTube and other sites like it, I use a FireFox plugin called Video Downloader.

Crystal Dynamics and Eidos don't have any plans to re-make any TR games besides TR1 (I think someone from CD or Eidos actually said that they won't be re-making any of the other games, but I can't find a source). I wouldn't mind seeing TR2 re-made though.

So, who do all of you think is scarier? Angry Lara from TR1... ...or Angry Lara from TR:A? Personally, I think I'd avoid making either of them angry

I very much dispute that the publishers are only to blame for AoD's state. Core had ages and ages to develop the game (at least three years) and look at the state of the game that was released at the end of those three years. Eidos could not just sit on it and keep giving Core extensions. Eventually they either had to completely scrap the game or release what they had, and with so much money already invested in the game they obviously chose the second option. Core should not have taken on the huge task of developing their own game engine from scratch, since they were very obviously not up to doing so. They should've done what CD did and used a modified version of an existing game engine. I put blame on Core for being incompetent, and on Eidos for not paying more attention to what Core was doing.

@Boaz: Yeah, I've had the wolves falling in the water and disappearing too. Looks like it, unfortunately. Someone who had this problem did suggest starting a new profile, but you probably don't want to go through the whole game up till that point and have the same problem. Downloading some savegames is probably your best option. If it is a problem with your profile, you might even be able to play the level properly with the new saves.

I've come across a couple of people who've had the same problem, but unfortunately I haven't yet been able to find any solution besides re-loading the game a few times until it works.

LOL, I got so badly frightened by a monster jumping on me during Anniversary that I was shaking afterwards I do get quite badly stressed when playing, but I think that's a contributing factor to how much I love the game. When I get stuck on a particularly tricky bit, first I start swearing at Lara and calling her names. Then if I'm stuck for a while I start hitting my keyboard (I only ever abuse my keyboard, never my monitor or computer tower like some of my friends do). Then if I'm stuck for a long time I have to exit the game for a while and go back once I've cooled off. Usually at that stage I'll go take a peek at a walkthrough or a help thread to make sure that I'm actually doing it properly.

And that is why I am very grateful I'm a PC Tomb Raider player rather than a PS one. I'm not a big fan of checkpoints and limited saves

Hi Stesha, welcome to LCO You can only play with the unlocked outfits when you are re-playing levels. So when you're playing through the first time, you're stuck with the Anniversary outfit only. When you choose "Replay Level" from the "Play Game" menu, you'll get a screen with an option to change Lara's outfit.

Well, it's pretty much certain that there will be a TR8 after the success of Legend and Anniversary. It'll most likely be released in 2008, although nothing is for certain. I very much doubt that Larson and Pierre will be back, but I suppose that it's possible that Natla could come back. (TR: Anniversary is not considered TR8 because it's a re-make, and not an original new installment in the series)

Okay, yeah, in order to complete the time trial you have to start the level in time trial mode. To do that you have to choose "Replay Level" from the "Play Game" menu, and then select "Time Trial" as the difficulty level.

No, that's a fan-made trailer (Eidos certainly wouldn't be using footage watermarked by a fansite in their own trailer). It uses footage from Legend, various Legend trailers, and a totally different game for the stuff with the male character. Besides, it's highly unlikely that the game will be called Mists of Avalon because that name has already been taken

I don't play on PS2, but going by the Anniversary controls page at Stella's... You need to press L1 to get a target lock. Keep this button pressed and shoot at the centaurs until they become enraged. They will then shoot a green beam at Lara. Release L1 and press Circle to make Lara crouch. This will keep her from being turned into stone by the beam. Once the centaurs have finished shooting the green beam, press L1 again to get a lock on the centaurs and start shooting them again. This time when their rage bars become full they will charge at Lara. Keep L1 pressed and shoot the centaurs, while keeping Lara moving sideways. Once you see the centaurs become enraged, stop shooting, or the move won't work. Keep L1 pressed all the time and keep Lara moving either to the left or right all the time too. One of the centaurs will charge, and when the screen slows down and the icon in this screenshot (I'm assuming it's the same for PS2) appears on the screen in the bottom right, press Circle to make Lara do the dodge. As long as you're still pressing L1 and making Lara move sideways, the move should work. Fire only when the grey targeting reticules turn red and you hear a bleeping sound.

The only thing I can think of to suggest are to keep the target button pressed all the time to maintain a permanent lock to make sure that Lara will do the adrenaline dodge when the centaurs charge. Only release it if they start shooting Lara with the green beam; when they do that you should make Lara crouch so she won't get turned to stone. I've tried it j7wild's way, but I can't get their health to decrease except by using the shields to turn them into stone. Make sure that you press crouch/roll and left or right only at the right time (an icon with arrows should appear in the corner of the screen telling you when to do it) and remember to always keep the target locked.

Congratulations! That bit was really tough... and it was definitely not helped by you having to re-kill the stupid monsters every time you missed a jump, and by Lara constantly shooting at the targets on the walls instead of the giant vicious mutants that are throwing fireballs at her
